Intellectual, educated, solves complex problems, considers alternatives and consequences, thinks before acts yet is involved in exciting exploration/adventure with the best of them. Not a nerd but an integral respected part of the team. His character was the best male role model in the show which has other great characters. Show is much worse now that he is gone.
