Zyephens-InsanityWhen DA goes and adds new rules specifically to delete your pictures you know you're a target they're not going to stop attacking. So then it's a lose lose situation for both DA and the deviant because the deviant leaves and DA loses money.

King RTSWhile it's true dA can set what rules they want, dA not only broke their own rules/TOS, but FAILED to inform artists of any rule changes and then snidely decide to secretly add a rule in a feeble attempt to silence the ecchi fanartists and get their harmless art, that by the way is under a "mature content filter", deleted. And are then furthermore supporting of minors to view said mature content so they can report the supposed violating art. ...enough said really.
Aljaz LotricDA administrators need to grow up and stop acting like a bunch of kids.

Linda SzymoniakIt's funny how art that has remained in galleries on DA for the past few years is suddenly being targeted as "pornography". It is especially funny, since not only does DA allow "fetish" and "artistic nudes" in their photograph section, but praise and support them fully. Many of those pieces are far more pornographic than the art they have chosen to take down. They fall back on the arguement that anime characters cannot be aged for our art, but have taken down art that contains only characters that are at least 18 years of age. Again, much of the art being taken down is anything but pornographic, and often in no way breaking their rules - which, by the way, they opted to change WITHOUT PROPER NOTICE TO MEMBERS OF THE SITE in the past day or two.
doggieearloverI have a paid account at deviantART, and have given a number of subscriptions in the past as gifts. However, if the current climate continues, I will have no choice but to allow my subscription expire in October, and I will give no more subs as gifts. My money will go to sites that support their artists, not stifle them.

AnonymousI would love to see all this mailed to the owner himself

Anonymousc'mon dA.... cme on....
AnonymousAfter being stalked and harassed by dA users that are being told to report people by the mods, I've had enough of the place. I was ready to comply by the rules when only one of my pieces got removed; I was fine with that, but I do not support a site that encourages minors to look under mature content filters to report or to harass other users.

AnonymousOne of my very favorite deviations were removed due to nudity, It keeps getting worse, and I don't want to end up leaving the site.

AshleyNo, I don't think that outright 'hentai' imagery should be allowed...but mildly suggestive images, and tasteful nudity should be fine for anyone to post! That's one of the reasons for the 'mature' filter, isn't it? The human body is a work of art, and just because something is erotic without being outright porn or 'hentai' doesn't mean it's not art. Removing 'ecchi' works that were previously allowed just isn't right! Removing tastefully nude pics and stock images is wrong as well.

Audrey WilliamsI used to love dA, but it's recent ban on art has me perplexed. I'm really confused as to why this came on so suddenly. They need to change it back to the way it was. They really are constricting artists too much.
Kevin BryanDon't support censorship!
AnonymousI thoroughly agree with this. I've seen many artists get affected by this.
EmilySo many of the art that has been removed under the claim that its child porn is totally bogus for one thing more then half of them were aged up, witch is NOT a way to get around the rule its called progression of the story, while I completely respect the original artist's right to keep there characters the same age that doesn't me an that fans cant think of different plot lines that involve the froward movement of time. ITS CALLED FAN FICTION. and it's legal so shut up already

Richard PThe whole point of having limited access mature contect is to keep it from kids. What's the point in even having limited access if you're going to wipe out any semblance of anything remotely close to mature.
Jo DoerbeckerOne would think that people could find better things to do with their time and energy than harrass others. (The mods have let a lot of people down and this situation is more than a little scary.) A combination of the KGB and the Salem witch hunts. I have greatly enjoyed the artwork and fanfics and find nothing, in anyway, objectionable about the material. I have decided not to subscribe due to this.
Christopher FossPlease, take a sensible view, and emplace a reasonable standard. The art you should be displayed unless it is blatantly pornographic. That does not mean, offends an individual, but rather, violates explicit and well defined published standards, such as penetration.
Dehard MurielI believe art is a form of expression and expression can't be censored nor controled.I live in a democratic country and thus believe in the freedom of expression in all forms. To aplly censure based only on your own beliefs is nothing short of a dictatorship. You can voice your opinion and disagree with anything you want, but you have no human right to forbid or force others to think like you do. There's not one truth but as many truths as human beings. So be human, and let art fly free...
J WarrenArt should never be censored. Period.

Ms.TaishoStop the madness, DA. You're losing the ones that support you the most!
InuGrrrlI can understand DA's concerns, but they've gone WAY too far. Deleting fanart without any warning, art that has been sitting on their site for more than a year in some cases, is really insulting to the artists. Worse, all of this started because of a handful of brats with too much time on their hands and an administration that needs to grow a pair. Subscribers and visitors made that site the powerhouse it is, and I hope they don't think those very same people can't bring them down. That would be very foolish indeed. Compromise can be achieved if they really want it.
Asmodeus04It is pretty hypocritical to change rules to eliminate certain segments of your site, especially considering how large the section you're trying to purge is. If you see it fit to eliminate and element from one segment of the site, pull it from all of them.
Alice RavenI've been on DA less than six months, and already some of my favourite artists have left in protest, and some of my favourite pictures have been deleted. This was meant to be an art site without discrimination, without boundaries that choke artists; change is needed, and soon.
Fawn SzymoniakI find DA's methods very underhanded in the whole dealing of this, and I am also very upset with the way they discriminate against fanart in particular. There are much worse content in some of the photographs, yet it is fanart that is being hit. Not only that, they are contradicting themselves by saying it's okay for minors to find these pieces and turn them in. Isn't that a worse offense then the art itself!?
AnonymousThis wrong what happen to freedom of speech?!
AnonymousDA has totally gone down the flusher recently. If things don't start improving...I'm taking my art elsewhere!
InuIrusa-chanDA has gone downhill this year. I want DA to be the way it was when I joined! I, like many others, was targeted by this people and had 3 pics deleted. Just today I received jet another note that one of my pics was deleted! I want to save DA! I just don't feel like I have much freedom in this place anymore. These people that reported my pics are constantly visiting my page removing pics! Not until DA changes for the best I won't be renewing my subscription!
Jennifer FosbergI am spideegrrl77 on DeviantArt and I feel that changing DA's policies and deleting art because of a few immature people who are illegally looking at the "mature content" pics is really wrong. If "artisitic nudes" are allowed, why are they not allowed of fan art characters? Not all of us are photographers, so why are the drawing artists being punished for using a different medium?
KelseyIf any site is to be an art site, there should be very little or no limitations to what can be submitted. Understandably, rules against pornography are needed but against passion? This is why you must have a DA account to access such art.
NalanaI support this effort. Please consider what we're saying here.
AnonymousThis is a sad state to see dA in. I do much fan art, although none of it erotic in nature, I fear that even that will be targeted at some point. When fan art of CREATED characters is taken down for unstated reasons, or false accusations of pornography(EX. A picture showing a teen with a little cleavage...less than we see many REAL 13-14 year olds with), but photographs of REAL people that IS pornography isn't removed, what does that say about dA? deviantART, what happened to your integrity?
AmyDA has been deteriorating in every part of the site, the first major changes occurring AFTER Jark left. If things continue the way they are, I will delete all my pictures and warn off my friends, as well as moving myself to another website that's more USER friendly. So shape up, or prepare to lose customers.

AnonymousUnhappy with the amount of art being deemed inappropriate and finding that the ones that truly are aren't .
DawnA lot of my pics were deleted & with out informing me nor others of this so-called- rules THEY ARE BREAKING.. All I gotta say is that there are DA members like myself leaving by the hundereds! How many you ask.. Uh simple try nearing 1200+ They are voilating other artists like myself & we are beeing harrased by "CHILDREN" funny this site is for 18+ YET DA is violating their own rules allowing these CHILDREN into their page.. and pointing fingers to everyone. BS major BS!! While we are defending our rights espeacially from our works.. they go off into Denial avoiding the common questions & answers.. litterally going around defeting our purpose.. and making all of DA members look bad. BTW.. Cannot age Anime? WTF.. BS once again Major BS.

Jacqueline RobinsonFreedom of expression! People who create fan art should not be limited any more unfairly than someone who paints, sings, writes, etc. We cannot pick and choose who gets to exercise their freedoms and who doesn't. This is bias, completely prejudicial and should be fixed. Immediately!
