Name: Andy Weinstein on Jul 5, 2007Comments: We need more independently owned businesses in this country, and this is a good example of a business owner doing the right thing -- great product, great customer service, self-service, free coffee card (buy 10, get one free), and owners that recognize their customers. It's the sort of business that should continue to thrive.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jul 9, 2007Comments: No unkind sentiments to Food in Bloom but, I have been a steady customer of Aunt Lanny's since they opened. I favor their coffee and their "atmosphere". If I must, I will buy a "thermos" and bring my own.Flag

Name: Dan Linn on Jul 9, 2007Comments: I don't get coffee from Food in Bloom, even though it's free right now. It's not as good and the servers are surly. When I heard they were switching to stumptown, I was ready to buy, but the moment Aunt Lanny's is forced out and we have only one option for coffee here, I'll be buying a french press and no one will get my money. Monopolies are never good.Flag

Name: Stephen Brandon Sanford on Jul 10, 2007Comments: What happens when, let's say STARBUCKS doesn't like Food in Bloom's coffee competition!! Or better yet...... Maybe we could call the Disney company & tell them they should buy out the NAITO company!!!!! Competition is healthy for the wealthy at ANY price!! Especially when you can just walk on the small business owner as your own personal stepping stones!!!! How about EARNING your customer's business! I no longer feel the need of Food in Bloom's services any longer. Thank goodness for Tupperware and Thermoses! Now..... where's that Mouse!Flag

Name: Deana Voorhees on Jul 10, 2007Comments: Isn't competition part of being an American. Isn't that why the military is over in foreign lands fighting for our right of competition and free trade This smacks of a monopoly and THAT is against the law. Even with coffee shops!!! I will not be buying one lousy cracker from Food in Doom ever again! Naito should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this kind of racketeering to go on!Flag

Name: Gwyn Mauritz on Jul 10, 2007Comments: Please rethink this. It would be one thing if Crazy Aunt Lanny's was struggling, but they aren't. They have the best coffee within walking distance of Montgomery Park. There's a REASON I don't buy coffee from Food in Bloom.Flag

Name: Hilary Almers on Jul 10, 2007Comments: Stop monopoly!! Save good coffee and chocolate!! We the workers want some choices, so keep Crazy Aunt Lanny's as well as Food in Bloom and the other little store on the 2nd floor! Today, more than ever, we should welcome diversity wherever we can!!Flag

Name: Michael Barrett on Jul 10, 2007Comments: To Whom It May Concern: Food and Gloom needs serious competition, not a hand-out to continue operating at a sub-standard level. Aunt Lanny's coffee and flower shop is a well run, friendly, small business. Anytime I have purchased a coffee at work it has been at Lanny's. The staff is capable and friendly, and the quality is good for a fair price. The *only* time I purchased coffee from the Food and Doom I regard to be misplaced charity on my part. I thought "how bad could it be". I already refrain from purchasing lunch or any other items from Food Entombed due to the high price and low quality. If Lanny's is to disappear, so will my lunchtime dollar.Flag

Name: Sheri Melling on Jul 10, 2007Comments: I work at Freightliner in MP and enjoy coffee at Crazy Aunt Lanny's almost everyday. Please do not close this coffee shop. It will change the entire atmosphere of the building if it's shut down. I will then be forced to get my coffee from someplace else before I get to work in the mornings.Flag
