Stuart Mason | As with many matters our "elected" councillors know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Perhaps they could set an example by giving up 10% of their expenses, this would realise £100,000.000 towards the cost of keeping the farm open

Robert Walton | This is a valuable assett to the Witney community and therefore should be preserved

Anonymous | What a wonderful amazing museum, the place is a brilliant piece of history. Why do they have to keep destroying these kinds of places.

Tim Fuller |
Joy & Peter Long | It is imperative that this wonderful Museum is saved, it brings pleasure to thousands of people and teaches children our history.
D. Long |
John Long |
Geoff Webb | Thisis too useful as a history resource to allow to go under. Too many things like this have been allowed to disappear and once gone, are gone for good, usually.
Bryan Long |
Nicholas Bropwn | A wonderful evocative site, sensitively presrved and staffed. A resource that MUST NOT be lost to future generations. With the increase in Size of Witney (& its income from increased local taxation) it should be a must to preseve this resource for the community.
Margaret Brown | This farm site is beautiful and preserves the essence of Witney's rural past. It must be saved.

Anonymous | This museum cannot be considered for closure on grounds of cost. If the council has any requirements for cost cutting they only need to look in house for savings. No successful business could maintain the amount of dead wood the council have within their organisation. Time for a good sort out from the top down. The savings from cutting out the dead wood would more than finance this project and others as well. Listen to the people who vote for you It is our museum and we demand that it is kept open.

Susan Davis | Cogges is a wonderful resource. My daughter has Williams Syndrome and we all love going there for picnics. It is a real haven - and all the staff are so helpful to us!

Dr T C Jordan | This is an invaluable record not only of the working main house, but of the various outbuildings and barns which are a rapidly disappearing feature of our vernacular architecture and agricultural heritage
Ralph Targett | Cogges farm museum is valuable asset especially to Witney school children.
SALLY BRITTON |
| 436 | Claire Preston | I regularly visit Cogges with my little girl, it is a wondeful place to visit and a great learning facility.
Please do not close it down. |
Rachel Jones | Cogges is a gem of a place and should continue for generations to enjoy. It is a very rare place and a lovely place. Please don't close it!
Sarah Twinn |
Robin L. Watson | We need to teach kids about farming and social life, past and present - this facility is ideal. For quality of life, Witney needs to retain its 'green wedge' on an absorbent flood plain, not to sell it off for roads and buildings that will cause even more rainfall 'run off'. And please: 'no' to the link road - another water barrier that will cause more problems in the longer term, as well as further strangling the Cogges Farm site. Thank you.

Anonymous | Myself and my partner, as we see many young families doing, walk right along this beautiful area next to Cogges Farm museum. It's so important for ourselves and these families to see the wildlife and the nature since it's one of the few places which is accesible for them which will contribute to the reduction of stress, their physical wellbeing (it encourages walking and exercise to the location) and a better mental health (seeing the animals can make people smile).

Pauline Cuthill | Save Cogges! It is a fabulous educational and fun resource for my children and children of this county. Witney also needs to attract more tourists and not just shoppers!!

| 450 | DOMINIQUE DELANEY | I couldn't believe it when I found out that the museum may close.I only found out this week.I spent many a school trip and family days out there as a child. It would be such a shame if other children don't get to experience it too.I remember wathcing the cooks making rook pie, corn dolly making and teddy bears picnocs to name but a few events.
I really hope that the council sees sense and changes its mind about the funding. |
