Comments: A welcoming, happy little school - a real part of the community. Great teachers, contented parents and best of all... happy confident children. This is a fantastic little school and I couldn't ask for more. It's a real shame that there isn't more of this kind of community spirit out there!!

Comments: Please do not go ahead with this school closure which makes no sense from and economic or educational standpoint and is being carried out without adequately consulting the local community.

Comments: Why close a school that is doing so well we need to have good schools for our children to have a chance of a decent education, and social skills.

Comments: I was lucky enough to have my first teaching experience at this school as part of my PGCE. All the staff were motivated and dedicated to making the school the best it can be for all pupils and it is one of the most welcoming schools I have come across. If children miss out on the learning experiences others have gained from this school due to it's closure it would truely be a shame!

Comments: Clyro School values the hearts and minds of every child in their care. It's beliefs and values ensure every child has the opportunities they deserve to become happy, confident and enthusiastic lifelong learners. Problems are seen as challenges to be overcome and all opportunities are embraced. This is an enchanting school, where both children and parents both demand and deserve a curriculum and experience for their children that will imprint on their lives forever!

Comments: An economically viable school that is chosen by parents because they believe it is the best school in the area for their children should not be closed. Please consult and discuss before decisions are taken. This involves individual, very special children and is not simply a game of number crunching.

Comments: I know from my cousin - whose children attend Clyro Church - and also from other parents of pupils at the school, that closing this much loved primary school would have a major - negative - effect on their lives. As I understand it, the school is extremely popular, has a high academic standard and provides a nurturing and supportive environment for primary age children to develop and grow into confident, happy youngsters. I ask you, Mr Patterson, to please rethink any plans to close this rural school, which is such an important feature of local community life.

Comments: The closure of any primary school leads to the creation of other, larger, primary schools. Where primary schools are concerned Small is Beautiful - and effective. My great niece and great nephew are receiving an excellent standard of education at Clyro Church of Wales primary School. Why destroy excellence?

Comments: My grandchildren attend Clyro school and I have always been very impressed by the commitment of the teachers and the quality of the education at the school. It is not a small village school with tiny numbers on the school roll - if it was I could understand the economic argument in favour of closure. It is a lively and very popular school which serves a quite large and diverse population and is an important centre for the community of that area. I would urge you to listen to the parents and teachers at the school and stop any proposals to close it.

Comments: It is awful that the children have to suffer for adults incompetence. These are village communities and have very tight social networks - destroying the schools will be like destroying the communities themselves. Maybe if the council was to tighten its own belts - expenses for this and that, free lunches etc and plan PROPERLY instead of funding white elephants then maybe this would not have to happen.

Comments: Schools help to keep rural communities together. If parents have to drive further to take their children to school, beyond the local community, it won't just affect the children's education, it will impact the whole community. And why is closure even being considered, if the children are doing well, the school is financially viable and the parents and children are supportive? I presume we have the banking fiasco to thank for the cutbacks - but surely there are other ways? Please consult with the community, give them a chance to vote on alternative options.

Comments: The 2 children of my niece (who lives in Glasbury) attend this school. I have been very impressed by the academic standards and by the very caring and child-sensitive approach demonstrated by all the staff. It seems ludicrous to decide to close an efficient, cost effective school. When in the UK are we going to decide to be like France and to see local rural schools like this one as the heart of a thriving community? We destroy them at a our peril.

Comments: Two of my nephews go to Clyro Church in Wales, and a third will also attend when he's old enough. Both boys have benefited immensely from attending Clyro and have thrived in its friendly and communal atmosphere. I would hate to think that they would have to travel further and to a bigger school just for the sake of making cuts. As I understand it, Clyro Church is a financialy viable institution and therefore has no reason to be forced to close.
