IMPORTANT UPDATE!
The Senate decided to endorse a new plan for the School of Life Sciences, which proposes the creation of a new department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
This plan has the support of students and staff here at Sussex, as it will allow mainstream Chemistry degrees to continue to be offered.
The decision was ratified by Council on Monday, 15th May.
A huge thank you to everyone who has signed this petition and helped the chemistry cause! The petition is now closed but will be left up as a reminder of how a bad idea could be put right.
