Name: Sarah Garland on Jan 31, 2013Comments: I am appalled at the decision made by Cardiff Council to shut this facility. It is a unique facility in Wales one which allows children and adults from all walks of life to a little bit of country life. This is an excellent facility for inner city kids who may never get to interact with animals in this way should this facility close. In these days of child obesity, surely this is an excellent avenue to encourage young children to exercise and to teach them team skills as well as loving and caring for an animal. Cardiff council you Appal me!Flag

There are so few places that people can go out and about and be themseves and these stables are one of them...Flag

Its services to the Riding for the Disabled Association and Cardiff as a whole, giving inner-city children a healthy, focussed hobby which keeps them off the streets and in to the countryside should not be allowed to be shut down!!!Flag

Name: Sarah Thornhill on Jan 31, 2013Comments: I learnt to ride at Pontcanna in the 80's and it was a fantastic facility then. To hear how successful the school is, and how many people enjoy spending time there, not to mention the staff who clearly love their jobs, it is gratifying that such a facility still exists 30 years later. It would be a great loss to Cardiff and its residents if this were to close - especially as it continues to be such a success.Flag

I would hope that the reason for the proposal is more imaginative than just a bottom line calculation.Flag

Name: Lynda Marks on Jan 31, 2013Comments: I think it is disgusting that the council are even contemplating closing this establishment. If they no longer want to run it why not sell it as a going concern? The answer.....they get more money by knocking it down and building houses.Flag
