Comments: This is discraceful, 40 horses Will be 'murdered 'if they do not find homes, 30 staff will lose their jobs and the livery horses, where are they going to go!? There is no reason to shut a perfectly welcoming a friendly riding school down in the name of greed. I ride there weekly and everybody is lovely, horses and all.

Comments: Spent so much time here as a child and met the most amazing people and horses, some of the best memories of my life from here - what I have now wouldn't have been possible without it. Seen how it can change people's lives, RDA lessons are so valuable. This school cannot close.

Comments: Cardiff riding school is an amazing, friendly, welcoming place and 40 horses don't deserve to lose their lives, neither do 30 great staff need to lose their jobs. I ride there weekly and it is brilliant, everyone there is lovely, horses and all. ALL of the teachers are great! It should definitely NOT shut down!

Comments: As well as the important community role that Cardiff Riding School has played for many decades, my own interest is in the population of swallows that breeds in the stables, and which has been the subject of an intensive study over the last 6 years, by Richard Facey of the Countryside Council for Wales, in collaboration with Cardiff University. The closure of the riding School puts the study, and the swallow population itself, in jeopardy. I understand that Riding lessons at the school are over-subscribed. It would be interesting to hear how an over-subscribed riding School (or indeed, any over-subscribed business) can be running at a loss, and if that is the case, it implies that it is a change in the financial management of the school that is needed, rather than closure of the school itself. I hope that the Council will immediately reconsider its proposed closure of this important part of Cardiff life; one that is held in stewardship by the Council, on behalf of the people of the City.
