Comments: My daughter loves to come and ride every week and to learn to look after the horses in pony club. The riding school is such an asset to everyone in the local area and is a unique attraction for all in the middle of a city centre.

Comments: I learnt to ride at Cardiff Riding School 25 years ago after watching my two daughters having lessons (I was 42 at the time). I was working and used to attend lessons on a week day afternoon and throughly enjoyed them. I eventually went into the ordinary lessons and carried on until I felt really condfident on a horse. The friendships and love of horses are two major reasons why the school should stay open and there are many people who would otherwise never know the wonderful feeling riding a horse can give you. It is unlike any other activity. Getting to know horses is such a special thing. My girls will be writing separately about the possible closure. The Riding School is unique and should be kept open by the City Council. Riding in the school led me to become a volunteer with Riding for the Disabled which I still help at in the Riding School.

Comments: Even in straightened times, there is such a thing as a false economy. This is an excellent facility, that in particular provides positive, healthy activities for young people. If the school closes, the Council will simply end up paying for them in other ways. Keep these children off the streets, out of hospitals, and wanting to exercise and learn. It's an investment in the long term.

Comments: The riding school is a highly valued facility for all who take part in the sport. The staff not only teach children/adults how to ride but give them confidence and self discipline. It is a much needed institution.

Comments: We need an active population in Cardiff. Facilities like the riding school are essential to deliver leisure services and keep people active. The riding school is affordable, making riding accessible to all. The school is a success and well utilised, there is a large customer base and a waiting list. We need to be making the most of our assets not closing them. Just closing the riding school and other leisure facilities shows our Council has no imagination and commercial flair.

Comments: As a clinician working with people who have suffered a range of traumatic brain injuries and other cognitive insults and seen first hand how access to facilities such as CCRS improve the quality of life for patients and their familes. The importance of keeping such an important facility that is so inclusive open and in council ownership to help future generations of patients, children and adults from the entire cross-section of community must not be underestimated.

Comments: Please do not close Cardiff Riding School. So many people use this facility, it would leave such a hole in some peoples lives. Maybe a co-operative, or Friends of CRS could be formed. Cardiff needs this type of facility, it is an education in itself.

Comments: I can not believe they want to close this down. I walk my dogs past there every day and I love the fact that there are stables in the middle of a city you step inside the gates of the fields and it is like stepping into the country side with horses and fields and the river it is a much needed brake from city life.my daughter wants to learn to ride and we can barely afford that there and if it was not for them then she would never be able to. Some one once said if you get your daughter into horses then you will never have to worry about her and I believe that. A lot of teens find them selfs in trouble with the law as they get bored and horse riding will stop that and give them a focus. I was a troubled teen that grow up in foster care and I went to live on a riding stables and it did me the world of good.
