Name: S Lang on Jan 31, 2013Comments: I am disgusted that this is even being discussed as an option. The Riding School is an invaluable asset to Disabled groups as well as making riding facilities accessible to people within the city environment without having to travel out to the countryside to school. Cardiff Riding school is an essential facility and reflects well on the city of Cardiff as a provision for it's community and various communities in areas surrounding Cardiff. . The fact that so many people will lose their jobs and the horses are very likely to be destroyed in an atrocity. How can Cardiff run homes for stray animals such as dogs then be willing to destroy horses that have given their lives to providing love, comfort and development to so many adults and children. Should this happen, It would be heartbreaking and inhumaneFlag

Name: Judith Costello on Jan 31, 2013Comments: I learnt to ride at this riding school. Without it I wouldn't have had the opportunity. I have amazing childhood memories from the 7 years I spent there of both friendships and lessons learned. I still own and ride horses 22 years after I left. This riding school is needed to allow future generations to be able to learn to ride and look after horses. It is also an amazing facility for the disabled group who ride there. I am shocked that Cardiff Council is even thinking about closing such an iconic riding school.Flag

Name: Francesca Carpanini on Jan 31, 2013Comments: I have never used Cardiff Riding School, but as a horse owner, I believe that it is essential to encourage children from across the city to get involved with a sport that is accessible to all. Horse riding can provide an opportunity to be the same as everyone else, should they suffer from a disability, as well as the horses themselves being able to provide therapeutic comfort to all. With childhood obesity on the rise, the Council should be looking to get children outdoors and involved with sports, not shutting it down because they need to pay their inflated salaries.Flag

Name: Marianne Barrett on Jan 31, 2013Comments: If Cardiff Council need to save money there are surely many other options, - rather than shutting down a fantastic place like the riding school which has served our city for so many years, - 3 of my children learnt to ride there, and I rode in lessons twice a week for years. The riding school has been so important in thousands of people's lives, children as well as adults and still means so much to so many people.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 31, 2013Comments: This is a much loved part of my community. A large majority of my family and friends use these facilities on a regular basis. I didn't mind the Radyr Court Road housing propositions because that land wasn't used for an important purpose, and I can understand why the government wishes to close the stables as the land is quite valuable, however society has already taken a massive hit from the recession, and this is not something else that people should be willing to give up.Flag

I still remember my first lesson riding Lady with Ron teaching me! During my early teenage years I spent almost every weekend at the yard helping out and have so many great memories there! It would be a disaster if the school were to close, not only for the people, but also for the many horses and ponies that would be left homeless! Please do not do this!Flag
