| 1051 | Julie Glendinning | Been there done that and got the t-shirt with Brighton but I grew up in Burgess Hill so would hate to see the same thing happen to my home town club! |

| 1059 | RG The Enfield Seagull | Have been aware of probs between the club and council but am outraged that the eviction notive has been served. Don't know how much truth is in the accusation of late rental payments, late floodlight usage etc, but surely MSDC can see the benefit of sports facilities, community bonding and green space?!
Of course not! It's all about money and developing the land....just like Albion, BHTFC stand to become homeless for the financial gain of others (albeit an organisation rather than individual this time).
MSDC: see sense and work with the club to find a solution! Re-homing the club before forcing them to leave?! |

| 1064 | lance du plooy | we need more sport not less!!!!!!!!!! closing down a team that produces grass roots players that are english is needed by this country, how can you build a successful england squad when this happens!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| 1065 | Stephen williams | give the club your backing insted of pulling the rug from underneath it in its hour of need MSDC please show some compasion. |
| 1066 | Robert Jones | Shocked to hear this, instead of helping the club through its difficult time, the council stabs it in the back. Doesn't Burgess Hill have enough new houses as it is, its already too big a town in respect to the amount of houses it has compared to the facilities it offers. |
| 1067 | Anonymous | keep leyland park |
| 1068 | lee palethorpe | how can the MSDC even contemplate selling this site. I am so disgusted, I have been a resident in Burgess Hill for 30 years and I feel that our town is becoming too big for the resources we have. surely we are allowed our own successful football team to have their ground left alone. build houses elsewhere and leave us alone you council bullys!! |

| 1079 | Malcolm H Caddy | Save' TheHillians', do not allow small clubs with a long history die, All small clubs are the lifeblood of our national game, |
| 1080 | Matty | Keep the JCBs away from football. |
| 1081 | bill chambers | The town must not lose its football club ( but the club needs to sort itself out!) The biggest offence anyone can commit is not to pay their rent! |

| 1083 | Anonymous | I do support your cause,but with some reservations.
For the 4 years thatI have followed BHTFC's fortunes, both by attending matches fairly regularly (at home) - I have enjoyed the style of football played and felt the club is fairly friendly and well run - ON MATCH DAYS - anyway.
Unfortunately behind the scenes, at managerial and board level this would not appear to be the case.
The issues of use of floodlights, payment of rent, on time & ongoing repairs etc, seem to come up fairly regularly each season?
For the directors of the club to allow this to happen so often, is surely bad management & very neive, at least with regard to the potential consequenciesor?
Whilst accepting the club is an integral part of the local community and provides a great service in that respect - you surely cannot expect to be treated differently to other 'tenants' - purely on that basis.
Some of your recent statements do come across as a little arrogant, misleading and amateurish with regard to the points being made, the genreral content and the language used.
For you to not accept any responsibility for the current situation and to dismiss it as the fault of a bullying local authority, is simply not true and frankly does nothing to further your cause.
I fully accept that you do have limited resources at your disposal, but I found some of your statements over the last week or so, a little embarrassing.
It comes across as a - "Please Mr, can we have out ball back" - Scenario.
You have happily plodded along, blindly believing you can flout STATUTORY legislation & seemingly only on the basis that you have a 125 year history/are providing a service to the local community etc eytc...
Well i'm sorry, but that 'aint' reason enough! Perhaps you have grown a little to quickly for your own good? Or before have put a workable business plan into operation?
The news yesterday that the club has been fined and deducted 8 points, for such a basic failure as ensuring a player has clearance - surely makes all of my points unarguable!!??
None of this is helped by your poorly run and often confusing web site! The info published over the last few days leaves a lot to be desired.
I am confused as to how your solicitor can be quoted as being one person (this weeks Middy) and yet on your most recent, published statement - you quote the name of a female solicitor who in 2006 was also an executive member of MSDC and was involved in the decision making over the issues you are having with the lease etc
How does that work?
Is there not a conflict of interest there?
I find the web site to be very poor and lacking in interesting content and news. The posts are very intermittent and inconsistent , especially the publishing of result/match reports and particularly in the case of away games. Occasionally the site seems to get updated a couple of days after a match, but often I have had to phone the club to find out results etc.
I'm disabled with restricted mobility and rely on this info and i find that the smaller local clubs, with less resources that BHTFC, provide a much better service for fans using web sites for information etc.
Oh and one tiny point on the site, you keep referring to 'THE' Mid Sussex District Council - this is incorrect, there is no need to add the word 'THE' !!
I work for at MSDC and trust me ,this will irritate them all the more!
OK, that's my rant over. I hope you receive my comments positively, as I intend them to be constructive.
I just think you need o look at yourselves as well as point the finger - you have known about all of these contentious issues for some time now and I think it just makes the club come over as little bit of a 'victim' - which is not strictly accurate.
Best wishes

| 1085 | Mick Parker | Good Luck from Weymouth! |
| 1086 | Jack Palmer | |
| 1087 | Paul | From the Mighty Muff, 2 fingers up to the local facist council scum |
| 1088 | Rab Crangle | Closing Leylands Park would amount to an act of vandalism against sport and the destruction of a community asset. Good luck in your campaign from everyone at Cambridge City FC. |
| 1089 | Philip Goldacre | 125 years of history and service to the community just to be bricked over?
Just what are the children and young people who would occupy these houses do in the evenings? Hang around on their newly created street corners or do something to build their individual self esteem and their community spirit?
BHT have served their community well for all that time. You can build houses anywhere. Build them somewhere else and allow this fine example of public service and amenity to continue its great tradition.
Or does none of the above mean anything? I don't imagine it does to the current breed of councillors. Well you can always be voted out of office, can't you?
Get your noses out of the Profit and Loss Account and accept that there are things more important.
Come on you Hillians!!!!!! |
| 1090 | dave hall | I love the burgess |
| 1091 | Anonymous | Losing Burgess Hill FC ground will be a great loss to the Community of this town. So please ensure the ground's availability.
Thanks |
| 1092 | DAVID ROY | Pretty obvious they want the land for housing; if so buy the club a ground, if not why lose the rent. |

| 1100 | Mark Hale | This is disgusting, football clubs dont seem to have this problem up north, so why down in sussex. The people on the council are power crazy. I am a major fan of sussex football. |
