Comments: Law Libraries are the heart of the law. It librarians are important resources ESPECIALLY TO SOLO PRACTITIONERS. Law Libraries are a necessity, even though not thought of as such very often. To lawyers, they are like an essential services like water or electricity in the home: always there and therefore not thought of very often, but sorely missed when they are gone. Even if staffed only part time, none of them should be closed.

Comments: As 1.) an attorney, 2.) a former MA Trial Court Law Library sub-contractor, and 3.) a current member of Florida State, Court and County Libraries, Inc., I can attest to the necessity of state court libraries to the administration of justice and function of the courts. Closing the library will have severe negative impacts on the courts as they will have to deal with more ill-prepared and uninformed litigants, represented and pro se.

Comments: Working in a public library with few legal resources, I frequently send people to the Bridgeport Law Library. Our patrons often need information to make important life decisions. These are not usually frivolous requests. There is no online location or other local information bank to help these people. Closing the Bridgeport Law Library would be a real loss to the public. Please keep these libraries open. Lorna Rhyins

Comments: Closing the library deprives pro se litigants and the judges of the opportunity to review materials that are not readily available on line, such as legal encyclopedias and treatieses. Please find a way to keep the library open.

Comments: As a small firm practitioner with limited on-line resources, this closing will be a significant hardship to me. Okay, so you stop updating caselaw and statute reoports. We can live with that. But helpful staff and treatises and other materials not available on-line are the heart of the library, and extremely important.

Comments: Outrageous! Have we all lost our minds? The Law Libraries are vital tools for for study and reference to our courts. Particularly the Law Library in Bridgeport, Connecticut's largest city with a huge volume of matters pending in the various courts-let's cut out the Governor's Horse Guard and save the library!

Comments: The Bridgeport Law Library is an extremely important part of the legal community, especially for small firms, who rely on it for their legal research. Closing the law library will make it harder, if not impossible, to perform complicated legal research in Bridgeport. The quality of the Bar will be reduced, and clients will suffer. It is a huge step backwards. I strongly urge you to reconsider.

Comments: Closing the Bridgeport library is beyond my comprehension. The library is in use constantly. Once again, Bridgeport is deemed unnecessary. But it is not, the library needs to remain open for the numerous pro se litigants. To put them in a position where they have to go either Stamford or New Haven is absurd. Pro se litigants are in a financial bind and forcing them to somehow get to Stamford or New Haven is ridiculous. Why not close New Haven or Stamford? From either of those courthouses, one would only have to drive 20 miles to get to the Bridgeport courthouse.
