Name: Anonymous on Jan 13, 2010Comments: I, along with other members of the bar, the judiciary and general public, use the law library in Bridgeport extensively. It would be a real loss to the legal commnunity, the judiciary and the public if it were to close. I hope the decision to close it it reconsidered and changed to leave it open. Thank You.Flag

Name: Blair Kauffman on Jan 13, 2010Comments: As the Yale Law School library director I can personally attest to the important role Connecticut's courthouse libraries play in supporting legal research needs of anyone in Connecticut who needs to do legal research. The information available in these libraries is not otherwise freely available, and use of such materials in academic libraries such as Yale's is restricted by contract when it is in digital formats and often no longer available in print formats. The quality of law practiced in Connecticut will be seriously hurt with the closing of these libraries, especially for those who do not work in large law firms with their own libraries.Flag

Name: Ramon Moreno-Cuevas on Jan 14, 2010Comments: Closing a library is like closing a hospital when there is no other means of curing people. In a hospital people are cured of their body ailments, in a library they are cured from their ignorance. A specialized library is particularly useful for the kind of issues that can be solved with their books. This library very important to sustain the court system. Closing it will have a bad impact against the people who need it the most: the pro se defendant who does not have the money to pay for a lawyer, and the starting lawyer who does not have the money to buy all the books necessary for his/her illustration.Flag
