    Comments: It's amazing how so many people gave Favre ALL the credit for the Packers' success "single handedly putting GB back on the map". No mention of Harlan, or Wolf, or Holmgren, or White, or Butler, or Freeman (and his broken arm in the SB year). Well, if was ALL Favre, then WHY DID IT TAKE 3.5 YEARS BEFORE HE WAS GREAT? Why did it take until 94% of the last Dark Year's roster turned over before the Pack were "back on the map" with a championship? Why was Favre NEARLY BENCHED for Mark Brunell in 1994? Why, when Brooks, Freeman, and Chmura were all out in 1996, did the Packers suck for a four game stretch, only, when Chmura and Freeman came back, to not lose a game afterward? ALL FAVRE, indeed. Too many of you dimwits failed to realize that there was the ON FIELD Favre who had a tendency to blow the big opportunities (unless having an historically great team like '96), and then there was the NFL Marketing Tool Favre wherein the lame early years and near mortal drug addictions were scoured from the narrative. A REAL Packer fan remembers ALL, good or bad, while a Favre fan only consumed the kool-aid. The sad reality is so many of you WERE Packer fans at one point, but you turned your back on the TEAM and replaced it with Favre. I can only assume NONE OF YOU have come back once you went with Favre. But I doubt it. "Dyed in the wool Thompson guys from way back" I'll bet. NOW, that is. "Rodgers is my boy".... It was tvrds like you all that signed this petition that made Favre who he was - an egocentric asshat who thought he was above the team. It was YOU who put him there. He thought HE was the GM, and his "waffling" was really he making ultimatums and waiting to see if they would be met. And when his precious Moss wasn't signed the second time, he quit. And then got mad when Thompson did his job and drafted two QB's. Then Favre wanted revenge, and to do so needed his release so he could go to the Vikes to stick it to the team. And it turns out THOMPSON WAS RIGHT to do it his own way versus Favre's. So not only was Favre a traitor, HE WAS WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE. And YOU wonderful PACKER fans enabled his self centered behavior because you all deluded yourselves into thinking it was ALL Favre for the turnaround. It turns out Favre was a REPLACEABLE part of that turnaround. The TEAM has had Favre, Brunell, Hasselbeck, and Rodgers (and even Aaron Brooks) come through the doors. And it's not even with Dickey and Majkowski in the recent past that QB'ing was the major problem. Favre's luckiest day was when the Packers fished him off ATL's third string, and then spent the next 3.5 years patiently training him to be anything at all other than Bubby Brister 2.0. THE PACKERS MADE FAVRE, not the other way around. And ALL YOU petition signers were the enablers of Favre being mistaken in who owed whom that led him to burn his legacy. You picked the wrong team to back. You should know in your heart that YOU are not a true Packer fan.
