Name: Peter A. Rundquist on Jan 27, 2007Comments: Why is it politics & money come before the little people and veterans. The Boggy Creek Golf Course has been the affordable course for many militay & civilian retirees for many years. It has been one of the most profitable course in a land of expensive courses. The food handling portion draws many people working on and around the Orlando International Airport. It is packed every day. Please save this course for the people.Flag

Name: Kaye on Jan 27, 2007Comments: Please do not close down Boggy Creek Golf Club. Orange County has many fine golf courses but few are affordable for the average citizen. Boggy Creek provides a place for people to enjoy a good meal and a game of golf without having to pay excessive fees. Orange County needs another public place to play golf, other than Dubsdread which is in another part of the county. It is not surprising that the city has lost interest in catering to the public, but once these green spaces are gone, there is no chance of recovering this open land for public enjoyment. Soon, all of Orange County is going to be covered with asphalt. What a shame for conservation and the public use of the land. Military retirees, seniors, high school golf teams, families, new golfers and others all enjoy the "no frills" facility. It is refreshing to play there and enjoy what it has to offer. At some time in the future there will be regrets over the change of hands of this beautiful piece of property. Now is the time to secure it for the enjoyment of citizens in the future. Otherwise, it will be too late. Please do not close Boggy Creek down.Flag

Name: JOHN MCCOMBS on Jan 27, 2007Comments: When the week gets too rough I can take the afternoon off and stop by for a relaxing 9 or 18 holes of golf. I know of no other places in and around this area where that can be done. I enjoy meeting, playing golf and talking to my fellow veterans of many different wars and services. This is the only place that can be done.Flag

Name: Diane Closs on Jan 27, 2007Comments: My husband has been fortunate to play this golf course during visits to Orlando. Finding affordable golf in that area is almost impossible. Golf should be available and affordable to everyone. Closing this course will be a true disservice to the community.Flag

Name: Carl R. Barrett, Jr. on Jan 27, 2007Comments: Please consider retaining this golf course for use by the many retired military (and others) that live in this area. It seems that accessible/affordable courses such as this are being converted into other uses without due consideration of its recreational use.Flag

Name: Donald L. Turner on Jan 27, 2007Comments: I echo the above comments and would like to add that it is great place that I can take my young son, age 6, and play without worrying about the inherent problems that come with a child his age. He is making striding progress with every chance we have to play. I love the course though it's only 9 holes, and I would hate to lose it but I would hate to lose it for my sons sake even more. I believe he genuinely loves it. Additionally, the course has a wonderful driving range where many lessons take place, for young golfers and old.Flag

Name: Douglas Farnholtz on Jan 28, 2007Comments: this is a great neighborhood golf course used by many aging veterans and general public not only for the game, but also for social activities. it has been open for too many years for it to end this way for things that are not needed.Flag

Name: Jeff Rowbotham on Jan 28, 2007Comments: Great people serve this course. Its family atmosphere, proximity to my home and continued efforts to improve the course speak well the need to keep the course open to those of us that play there and others that a concerted effort to increase play would bring. South Orlando needs this place. Keep it open please. Jeff RowbothamFlag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 28, 2007Comments: My husband has found great satisfaction in going to this course and was greatly disappointed to hear of it closing. Please, please reconsider. So very much of modern living is being torn up for some sort of commercial and financial benefit. Ironic. The construction that is supposed to bring some sort of benefit actually takes away from the few places left that bring a little kindness and pleasure in stressful lives.Flag
