You can be away sometimes for a year maybe two come back and nothing has changed people still know you and welcome you like you had never been gone. The loss of this course hurts like losing a family member.Flag

Name: John C. Vignetti on Jan 25, 2007Comments: Reconsider closing Boggy Creek! The lost jobs, environmental impact, and continuing erosion of military retirement benefits are just a few of the reasons for keeping Boggy Creek open. Give the patrons a chance (perhaps 1 year) to explore all available options for making Boggy Creek a profitable business venture. Another airport parking lot would be sad ending for such a wonderful, hometown golf course, great staff and outstanding comradre of military veterans and many wartime heros. Save Boggy Creek!Flag

(don't raise them in winter for snow birds) home of military retiree golfers. closing this course will end an era for this area.Flag

Name: Manny (GP) Sylvia on Jan 26, 2007Comments: First the NAvy had Boggey Creek when I started playing the course in 1989, then the City of Orlando leased it from the Navy. During that time the Creek was a home away from home where you could bring your children and granchildren to learn the great game of golf. The course gave those kids a place to play a great game and safe haven to grow up to be fine young men. They also learned what it meant to be a veteran that served this great country of ours. Because of the many active duty and retired veterans that played Boggey Creek these young men found a direction and a sense of worth that they could not have found on the streets of Orlando. For the Navy to close Boggey Creek without giving someone else a chance to keep it open, like they did when the City Of Orlando took it over would be an injustice. Keep open the Creek. There are some of us willing to buy the course if the Navy would only give us the chance tha tthey gave the City of Orlando. Save Boggey Creek.Flag
