The course is great. Please think about all the potential students and great musicians potential to enjoy the BAAM course xFlag

Name: Linzi Cowan on Feb 8, 2010Comments: As a current student in 3rd year, the BAAM course is the best musical experience I have had in my career so far. I have met fantastic people, outstanding musicians and dedicated staff within the course. My personal confidence with my musical ambitions has soared with continued support from lecturers and students. The BAAM course is an asset to Strathclyde University and should be by no means be withdrawn. The loss of such a good course will impact greatly on current BAAM students and BAAM students of the future. Scotland needs B A Applied Music to cater for the fantastic musicians of the future who will retain Scotland's imfamous musical culture.Flag

Name: Steven Baird on Feb 8, 2010Comments: I am a close friend to a lot of the BA Music course and I have never seen a closer bunch of mates. It was through this brilliant course that has formed this beautiful relationship between what are now inseparable friends. I have never experienced such a close unit in a university degree before. Being a close friend to the group I have been able to experience all their superior talents. It just shows that this course must really run well to create such young talent. All students from the course are all so busy with extra work on the side of their course. They have function bands, chart topping bands, beautiful choirs and orchestral masterpieces. This isn't the norm for such a creative industry. Usually its a struggle but they have been able to jump straight into the limelight and doing well while being there! We need to keep creating these unique groups of people as without it, Glasgow would be a much duller place. MON THE BAAMS! Love ya all xFlag

Name: Valerie Bryan on Feb 8, 2010Comments: This course has huge significance and to discontinue it would set Scotland's music back decades. It is the one course which fosters music of ALL styles: classical, traditional, jazz, etc., and which is a REAL progression from the ethos of music in Scotland's schools in the 21st century. Graduates of the BAAM have contributed vastly to music in Scotland and the world: their styles and pathways are diverse, but they have in common a supremely high standard of musicianship. The people who set this course up were visionaries: their vision deserves support, not abandonment. The BAAM course is of world-class importance. It should continue and develop.Flag

Name: Diljeet Kaur Bhachu on Feb 8, 2010Comments: To me, BAAM is more than a degree programme, it's a community! I've never heard of another course where the bonds between students of all year-groups, and staff, are so strong! In the last few years I have been able to explore so many new areas of study that I had no idea I would even consider, and that I doubt I would have been able to on any other course. To think that other musicians might miss out on that opportunity because of this proposal saddens me, and I think the potential impact the loss of BAAM will have on music in Scotland has been severely overlooked.Flag
