   Comments: The AutoPatcher is/was a great tool for OEM and SMB system builders. Previously, the Microsoft website took hours to download for instances of XP, Vista and Server 2003.

    Comments: I feel Microsoft has not fully considered all the benefits of allowing this free tool to exist and to continue. Not only has this tool help reduce the stress for administration of systems by users and administrators alike, but it has reduced the network bandwidth required by Microsoft to support these users and administrators to do take advantage of this tool. I firmly believe Microsoft should carefully review its options; understand that its allowed this process to continue for over four years without objectsion and with approval from Microsoft; acknowledge that this product has never installed malicious software; and that this community providing this tool has taken the utmost care and effort to provide the best possible support for Microsoft globaly, more so than I feel Microsoft has in the past.

    Comments: There is a real need for an offline patching utility like Autopatcher in the field. If Microsoft is concerned that malicious files are being distributed with Autopatcher then perhaps they should make the Autopatcher team a Microsoft Partner and encourage signed releases (hashes etc) so that users can verify that the releases have not been altered. Microsoft is hurting themselves by a removing a tool that provides significant value to their customers.

    Comments: Dear Sirs, I am writing to you about the AutoPatcher issue. Many, many business and home users have used that software in order to speed up the update of Windows-based PCs since its first publication. It has the aim to contribute to the diffusion of the Windows updates in a safe and fast way, with absolutely no violation of any of the Microsoft's copyrights, concerning niether Operating Systems of the Windows family, nor applications of the Office family. AutoPatcher has been of great help to all people concerned in Windows/Office installation and management, helping us to save a lot of time. That is why I am asking you to revise the decision of closing this useful project. This will save time to all users, increase our productivity, and finally help to improve the functionality of Microsoft Windows and Office, without affecting Microsoft's rights in any way.

    Comments: Autopatcher was a great idea given form, giving IT staff a very useful and time saving program. Microsoft should work with the autopatcher guys to work out a reasonable workaround.

    Comments: Getting more os's patched is supposed to be in MS's interest. They stated it many times. Making the job of a tech guy (or just a tech-know-how that helps maintain his family/friend pc) easier also should be of MS's interest since this guys (techies) are the ones who advice ordinary people what to install. (in case you wander, no, paying newspapers for paid articles on vista does not do the trick. The reader later comes to us to ask our opinion. Guess what it is now).

    Comments: Autopatcher was the key of the updates. Being able to update multiple computers in few clicks without the needs of download each times all the update was saving me precious times effort and bandwidth. With 100+ updates in XP right now I can't imagine how mush time I will loose now when setting up computers. Thank you Microsoft to make my life harder.
