I cannot help the impression corrupt practices have lead to such an unreasonable and contradictious rezoning decision of the area. It is disappointing to see how carelessly Maltese officials gamble away the islands most valuable cultural assets for short term gains for private entrepreneurs from questionable construction projects. I am also sad to see that almost 3 years after joining the EU this seems to be the way things work in Malta. I hope the Maltese decision-makers do realise that this sort of practice does not go unnoticed, by its tourists and the foreign pubic. |
