Chris Kelley | Anything that enhances and teaches the ways and the culture of Appalachia should be preserved and kept. Money vs our own culture. Please consider.

Christine Bailey | This school is a cornerstone of the community and should not be in jeopardy of losing its aaility to educate one and all. It is a highlight of my trip to the mountains every year and it would be a shame to see it sold off for monetary gain both to the fraternity and the city. There are enough tourist traps in the town ... keep the school as is!!!!!
Lisa McCurry | Please do not destroy one of the last good things in Gatlinburg.
Chris Hartzog |
Cheryl Gilliam | PLEASE SAVE Arrowmont. Gatlinburg would not be the same without Arrowmont. Please do not destory this piece of history. God bless,

Sara Drost | Art is my passion. " What so ever things are beautiful, think on these things." When I was born to PiPhi, my PiPhi mother requested that I remember these famous words in the quote, and today I am remembering them.

Ann Blackburn | Please save one of the most historic, premier art/craft schools in the country.
Elizabeth Cherry Owen | I am appalled. I am a Pi Phi and a full time studio fiber artist. I was a studio assistant and scholarship student at Arrowmont several times in the last 20 years. As a TA I lived in "Teachers" the building which housed the teachers who came to isolated Gatlinburg and served at the Settlement School and recognized the value saving the traditional Appalacian crafts. I always enjoyed this physical connection with the past. The sale of the historic property as a sacrifice for yet another tacky downtown development in Gatlinburg is just embarrassing. It is an unfortunate indication of how little Americans value their own history.

Elizabeth Batchelor | Keep Arrowmont as it is unique. Replace some of the ubiquitous, gosh awful, tacky, find anywhere operations. Gatlinburg is getting a bad reputation from the rows of worthless stuff for sale.
russ maples | Hope they save one of the last vestiges of what Gatlinburg once was.

Katherine Stepp | I worked on the Digital Project collaboration between UTK Libraries and Arrowmont - and feel that moving the school or jeapordizing its future is a huge mistake to the community! This school, with its rich history and incredible service, is an assett to Gatlinburg. I sincerely hope that the school is allowed to stay functional, funded, and in its historic location for future generations.
Raymond Norris | Please save Arrowmont! Many times I go to Gatlinburg just to visit the store. It is truly and East Tennessee treasure and should remain so!
Anonymous | Greed! Do not relocate this fine landmark!
Ben Jensen | Arrowmont is a great resource. Who needs another waterpark!?!
Natalie Tornatore |
Virginia Pfaff | Having visited Gatlinburg many times over the last 20 years my first stop and favorite attraction is always the Arrowmont School shop to enjoy and purchase craft items. Best part is the convenient location near our hotel in town. PLEASE keep Gatlinburg historical flavor intact with quality craft shops NOT tshirt shops, and water parks. Water parks???? You have GOT to be kidding! Like Key West, Gatlinburg would never be the same. I would never choose to stay in Pigeon Forge rather than Gatlinburg which has in the past the more unique, authentic historical look.

| 5146 | Robert G. Reid | I was lucky enough to study at Arrowmont for several summers in the mid seventies.
I had my Masters Thesis Show in the main building.
This school is indeed a treasure for Gatlinburg and Tennessee. To replace it with hotels and plastic water slides is beyond belief . Some things in this life are beyond having a dollar value placed on them. This school is one of those things. Stop this inappropriate horrible idea now!! SAVE THIS SCHOOL FOR THE FUTURE GENERATIONS WHO WILL LOVE IT AS MUCH AS I DO. |
