| 1 | Angie Cain | Arrowmont benefits the community and the country at large more than condos and water parks ever will. |
| 2 | nigel rudolph | |
| 3 | cheyenne rudolph | of course i'll help save arrowmont. gatlinburg needs it. we need it. much more than anything they are thinking of replacing it with. |
| 4 | Anonymous | Dear Pi Beta Phi,
I am stating my concern for the possibility of selling/developing Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. Arrowmont has developed a reputation as one of the premier craft schools in the country and has drawn thousands of people both nationally and internationally. It is a culturally rich highlight to what has become a commercially dense tourist area. In light of this, your fraternity is holding on to an amazing organization that makes YOU LOOK GOOD as well as the city of Gatlinburg. Please do not let commercial interests remove what has become a cultural landmark. |

| 10 | Alison Hart | Selling the land that Arrowmont sits on would be a devestating loss to the citizens of Gatlinburg and Sevier County. |
| 11 | ted adler | Compromising the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts by selling the land on which it is housed would be a terrible mistake. Arrowmont is an important institution in the history of American Craft, and remains a vital entity in its furtherance. By selling this property for development, Pi Beta Phi would be making a clear statement against cultural interests and against traditions that are a vital part of the cultural identity of the United States of America. To consider selling this property is pure folly. To say that it would benefit the Gatlinburg community is pure insult. |
| 12 | Lynette Andreasen | |
| 13 | Alex Kraft | There is no where else in the world like Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. It is a true gift to not only the communityof Seviere county, but to the national and international art and craft community.
Literacy happens in the arts at Arrowmont. Please don't let this piece of American history exist only in the past. Let's bring Arrowmont into the future! |

| 15 | Heather RIordan | |
| 16 | David Barnhart | "Follow the money" makes more sense than "this development is another opportunity to benefit the community." |
| 17 | Anna Calluori Holcombe | Arrowmont is an oasis in a tacky tourist jungle. Please do not do this. |
| 18 | John W. Bailey, Jr. | |
| 19 | Patrick Houston | Closing and selling off the property for profit would be an insult to the legacy of all the PBP's who worked to develop this resource. Mrs. tarr needs to be replaced immediately with someone who is not interested in "profit". Development is killing Sevier County. |
| 20 | Meagan Gumpert | |
| 21 | Stan & Chris Johnson | This community needs to take what ever step necessary to stop this action of the Pi Beta Phi Grand Council. Arrowmont is a corner stone of whats good about the city. The citizens of Gatlinburg must be outraged at this action.
We will do anything to help!

| 22 | Mari | Ever since I attended Pi Beta Phi Elementary School, I was taken to Arrowmont for "field trips." From the first grade on we learned to throw pottery, paint, work with enamels, etc. Most or all of us would never have gotten to work with clay or glass if it wasn't for Arrowmont. After I graduated from high school and went to college, I interned there at Arrowmont two summers in a row and did a work study exchange program. Every relative or friend that has come to visit us here in Gatlinburg, we have taken to Arrowmont to show them what a gem lies here in the Smokies. It is an incredible resource for the people of the Southeast USA and all over the world. To sell the school's land and replace Arrowmont with another tourist attraction or time share facility is a crime, to say the least. The Pi Beta Phi Fraternity started Arrowmont to bring healthcare, literacy, and education to this part of the United States, and it is still doing just that today. When I try to imagine my life without the influence of Arrowmont, it is difficult and saddening to do so. Please, please, please, Pi Beta Phi, rethink this sale. Instead, think of me, and the hundreds of children just like me who know and love Arrowmont and the services it provides. |
| 23 | Sarah Wiseman | Arrowmont has profoundly changed my life. The community and people associated with arrowmont are a true gift. Please do not sell the land!!!! |
| 24 | Michael Anderson | Arrowmont is one of the few cultural institutions that Sevier County much less Gatlinburg can lay claim to. The loss of Arrowmont to a timeshare resort can be characterized as little more than one more step in the dumbing of America. Yes, money is important and I imagine the timeshare folks are waiving a very tempting carrot. And though I may not agree with adjectives like tourist traps, excess consumption or greed I do feel that trading Arrowmont for more timeshare hawkers on the street intimidating families as they try to enjoy their day and the non-invasive merchants of town couldn't be more degrading to the community as a whole. In this case Pi Beta Phi Fraternity will have transformed itself from being an icon of education and culture to little more than one more financial opportunist. Is there not an opportunity to have your cake and eat it too. How about the developer relocates the school and assists Arrowmont in its financial future in the community? |
| 25 | Angela Wiemken | |
| 26 | Alyssa Welch | Arrowmont benefits the area and its traditions. Though I am not from the area during my stay I was educated on the importance of the crafts of the area and stood in admiration on them. Take away the school and you will end the instruction of the area's crafts. |
| 27 | shane mickey | development of a cultural treasure what has the world come to. |
| 28 | Christina Wolfenbarger | This sale MUST be stopped |
| 29 | Chrissy Hartman | Save Arrowmont. |
| 30 | Ryan Smith | Arrowmont adds character to Gatlinburg. Gatlinburg is known for its arts & crafts communities. You're taking away it's heart. |

| 34 | Donna Arensbak | I don't know what to say. I am in shock that this could even be an option. Arrowmont is a part of my families life, and I just can't even imagine it not existing. I have watched Gatlinburg become something that none of us are proud of, but Arrowmont made it worth the trip down the hill.
Please reconsider this sale...................... |
| 35 | Sara Fulkerson | Let creativity live and thrive! |
| 36 | Butch Gaut | |
| 37 | Tammy Bulman | |
| 38 | Ian Arensbak | Arrowmont has been a huge part of my life as well as my families for many years. Please do not turn Gatlinburg into even more of a non-enjoyable place to live by getting rid of one of the last good things about the area! |
| 39 | Lea Cole | |
| 40 | Lizabeth Elder | It would be criminal to allow this historic school to end. The Arrowmont experience is made what it is in large part by the location; the historic buildings, the history of the school, that sense of being in an artistic enclave in the midst of the madness. It would be criminal to allow that to end. |
| 41 | Anonymous | KEEP ART EDUCATION ON THE COMMUNITY not more tourist traps! |
| 42 | Zachary Dunn | |
| 43 | Chuck McMahon | |
| 44 | Vincent Stormes | Arrowmont MUST be saved!! |
| 45 | JENNI BOLING | |
| 46 | Anonymous | The Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts is an oasis of culture, learning, craftsmanship, gifted teachers and students from all over the world, students of all ages and backgrounds who want to tap in to their own human talents. It is an island of beauty in the middle of a town that seems to have other values.
"..developing the property is another opportunity to benefit the community.." Really..how? Shall we tear down all of our cultural institutions and build condos and high rises to 'benefit the community?'
Line the pockets of a few seems more likely. |
| 47 | Anna M Osborn | I am opposed to the proposed sale. I am saddened and horrified at the manner in which it was handled.
We have a million dollars to give to First Book, but we sell Arrowmont property? |
| 48 | Jill Greene | |
| 49 | shelley holloway | i cannot believe this! ruining gatlinburg one landmark at a time! absolutely not! do not sell arrowmont property!!! |
