Save the Whales

We, the undersigned concerned citizens of The World, want to express our horror at the ongoing Japanese Whaling harvest. In 1986, an international treaty was signed to eliminate the killing of the whales. Japan has staunchly defended its annual killing of more than 1,000 whales, conducted under a clause in International Whaling Commission rules that allows whales to be hunted for scientific purposes. If the hunt were for scientific purposes, the take would not have to be so large, and whale meat would not be showing up in high end Japanese restaurants. We call once again upon the international community to stop all commercial whaling, and to close any exploited loop holes. Barry Welsh United States Congressional Candidate
