It has became clear that Abertay is top of the Governments University ‘Hit-List’. At First Minister’s Questions we did not receive assurances for the pupils the pupils and staff of Abertay about the University's future. The speculation initially came from a letter the University received from the government’s Scottish Funding Council asking it to delay on appointing a new Principal and to give an “evaluation and analysis” of its role. Letters since by the SFC (Scottish Funding Council) have been sent to Dundee University asking them to consider and explore merging with Abertay. If the Government cannot give us the assurances we want then the Abertay and Dundee community must demand them.
