| 102 | Jack Gattanella | SpikeJonze is, for lack of a better word, an artist. Don't mess with the artist, folks. |
| 103 | Anthony Bell | |
| 104 | Lisa Wardle | "Where the Wild Things Are" is supposed to be strange and surreal, even a bit scary. Those of us who were children that grew up with the book want to see it presented in the same manner. |

| 112 | Janelle Fike | Please save this. This was such a part of my childhood, and means so much to me. Have the courage to create something beautiful, not simply commercial. I guarantee it will pay off in so many ways. Integrity always does. |

| 133 | Ryan A. Harris | Since I first read this book when I was five, Where The Wild Things Are has held a special place in my heart, and been an all time favorite. I was nervous when I first heard about a big screen adaptation, as the pursuit of big box office returns usually ends up destroying a special property (see: The Cat in the Hat, The Grinch, etc). Seeing that Spike Jonze and David Eggers were handling the film erased these woes. Of anyone in Hollywood, they seemed more than capable of translating Maurice Sendak's vision to film.
Although I am not surprised that big Hollywood exec's would find a faithful, accurate translation not to their liking, I am disappointed to learn that they have. But need I remind you, Where The Wild Things Are is not a silly, candy-coated book. If that's the type of movie execs were looking for, they should have optioned a different property.
Where The Wild Things are is one of the most imaginative, thrilling books I ever read as a child. It means a lot to me, and I'd hate to see the creative genius of Maurice Sendak ruined by Hollywood greed. Please, re-read the book and reconsider your position. |
