Comments: the test footage looks soo great. the unfinished movie got amazing reviews. Sendak said that he wanted this version to be made, or no movie at all. so wth are they scrapping it. i heard they thought it was too sad, heavy, and dark. Studios are afraid of real emotions. If only they put out quality movies instead of simple minded crap that can pull in the $$$..... how sad.

Comments: WB--Why hire Spike Jonze in the first place if you wanted a cookie cutter film to sell to five year olds Jonze is brilliant and Maurice Sendak approves. Stop the nonsense and release the film.

Comments: No reshoots! Make this film for the people who read it! By that I mean, an older audience, it has much more relevance to us than it does to kids today. Besides, why are we assuiming kids today cant take this kind of movie When I was kid my favorite movies were the Empire Strikes Back and Ghostbusters, which were movies for a younger audience that were dark. Lets not assume kids cant watch a slightly dark version as oppsosed to the same lame kids movies we've been forced with the last few years

Comments: Such a ridiculous idea. As long as the original version gets released on DVD at some point though, it would be quite funny if they re-shoot then the piece of crap they make bombs.

Comments: I love this book and I love Spike Jonze. His vision for this movie is on the money, and if it doesn't see the light of day we've all been robbed of something very special. Children's stories don't have to be happy and nice. You only have to read the original versions of all well known fairy tales to see that.
