| 1 | Peter | De Vlaminck | CA | US | I am a high school wrestling coach that has several girls on the team.
I would hope that they would have the same opportunities to wrestle
after high school that I had. UMM was one of the pioneers in
womens collegiate wrestling. It would be a shame to see that program
cancelled when wrestling is one of the fastest growing girls sports. |

| 3 | joanna | wu | CT | US | wrestling is the oldest olympic sport, and given the tradition of excellence that um-morris has demonstrated with its wrestling it should be saved at all costs. |

| 7 | Nancy | Schultz | CA | US | |
| 8 | Sam | Leinweber | WI | US | It is absolutely horrible that you would completely eliminate one of the most succesful athletic programs in your school. Especially when they are giving you world wide recognition and are already dealing with shortcomings in their budgets. |
| 9 | Amanda | Muncer | TX | US | This is one of only about 8 college wrestling opportunities for women in the United States. Getting rid of the wrestling program is going to hurt the school because athletes will go elsewhere. For women, this makes the diffrence of staying in the US or going to Canada for college. Think about it. |

| 11 | Andrew | Avsec | OH | US | |
| 12 | James | Zimmerman | CA | US | UM Morris took the lead
in developing women's collegiate wrestling in this country.
Administrators should not throw this record away. |
| 13 | Joanne | Chauvin | AZ | US | My niece, Gaby Portillo, is attending UM-Morris to wrestle. She deserves the opportunity to use her talents and to receive a great education. Please don't eliminate the wrestling program. |
| 14 | Mark | Lynch | OR | US | I urge the administration to reconsider their decision.
It is in the best interest of the school to keep BOTH mens and womens wrestling. |
| 15 | James | Humphries | NJ | US | |
| 16 | Reona | Kumagai | NY | US | Wrestling is a great sport. Unfortunatly, Princeton, has also cut wrestling from its funded sports. We still have a team, but its is sole supported by alumni.

| 18 | R.J. | Scott | ID | US | To the Administrative and Athletic Leadership of UM-Morris:
Define yourselves at this critical juncture by displaying the brand of true leadership and courage that will mark your legacy...FIND A WAY! Your Men's and Women's wrestling programs are VITAL! FIND A WAY!!
I am quite sure that you are being bombarded with negative e-mails and comments. I only hope that you wade through all that and find a way to save the Men's and Women's wrestling programs and truly set UM-Morris apart from the field as LEADERS!!!
FIND A WAY!!!

| 19 | Mark | Slevin | WA | US | Please don't let Minnesota turn into anougther Washington State. Wa have one, four year college that offers wrestling in WA. My son is a senior next year at Ferndale HS in Washinton and one of the schools that Chet was looking at is UM-Morris.

| 21 | Yvonne | Prete | MA | US | |

I'll pass this along to the Calgary wrestling crew and the rest of the Canadian wrestling crew.

| 24 | Thomas | Westfall | MO | US | I am currently Professor and Chair of The Department of Pharmacological and Physiological Science, Saint Louis University School of Medicine.I wrestled at West Virginia University winning the Southern Conference championships in 1957 and 1958,I was also Captain in 1957,1958 and1959.Before college I wrestled at Latrobe High School, Latrobe, Pennsylvania.I owe a great deal to wrestling and I agree with Coach Reese that it reakky prepares one for life and success like nothing else I know. It clearly contributed to my success. I congratulate Coach Reese and his accompiishments at the University of Minnesota-Morris, especially the Academic All Americians. The wrestling program should be saved, Sincerly, Tom Westfall,PHd. |
| 25 | Jamie | Odom | TX | US | |
| 26 | Lou Anne | Betts | MI | US | My daughter, Katrina Betts, attended UM-Morris and was on the Women's Wrestling team from 2001-2002. Coach Reese and UM Morris was a wonderful experience for her, but unfortunately she had to return home for specialized medical care as a result of an automobile accident. Some of the best female wrestlers are attending or have attended Morris and I'm sure you'll see them in future world class and olympic games. It would be a tragedy to discontinue a program that has been on the cutting edge of female wrestling while securing an education. Please reconsider other options before cutting two valuable programs. |
| 27 | todd | pouliot | WA | US | please keep UM-Morris Wrestling. Great opportunity for both men and women! I am a former MN Prep wrestler. |
| 28 | Leslee | Laverdure | | CA | Wrestling is a sport that is a low cost sport. Once you have your intitial investment in place (ie mats, singlets) the maintaince costs are small compared to other sports. I have had the opportunity to wrestle girls from UMM and I wish to continue to be able to do so in the future. - Leslee Laverdure Co-captain UofC Wrestling Team Calgary, Canada |
| 29 | Cortlandt | Choate | PA | US | Swimming....and they don't even have a regulation size pool and no conference competition. You have to be kidding. |
| 30 | Jaime | Compean | MN | US | |
| 31 | Jason | Bryant | VA | US | This is an absolute farce. UM-Morris stood alone at one time as a trend-setter for women's athletics, with wrestling being the catylyst. Now, with UM-Morris' blatant disregard for its student body, UM-Morris won't be a trend-setter, but would fall into the realm of "also-ran" out of the money, and not in the race.
Wrestling at UM-Morris has and will keep providing exposure for the school and top-notch women's wrestlers... but it's up to the school's administrators to give the entire wrestling program the chance to compete (instead of soaking money for a sport that will NOT be able to compete nationally, has no conference affiliation and isn't tapping into the true resources athletically that Minnesota has been known to have).

| 33 | Anne Marie | Berger | NJ | US | Dropping wrestling in Minnesota would be a shame, such a precursor of college wrestling decline should not be allowed to happen. |

| 38 | Jackie | Thrasher | MN | US | I go to UMM and I don't agree with the cut at all! |
| 39 | Daniel | Tanashova | | TR | Well, i am a wrestling trainer in Turkey. I know Morris has USA's best woman wrestlers. They should continue their wrestling programme. |
| 40 | Dominique | Schwartz | FL | US | I started wrestling when I was 7 years old. I knew that I would want to compete on the college level someday.I can't even remember how long I've wanted to wrestle for UMM. If they cut the wrestling program, it won't only crush my dreams of being a UMM wrestler, but many other girls as well. |
