When the children of a community are allowed to fail, we all suffer. The TRiO programs at Mills work and are valued by our community. These programs also benefit military veterans. It is particularly discouraging to see that, while the Bush administration is doing all it can to send more youth into the military, they are continually reducing the kinds and levels of support for those who have searved their time and are ready to rebuild their lives. This war is destroying our capacity to take care of our own people, and it is time we stood against further deterioration of our future. |
