| 3401 | Shei;yn | Ceruto | NY | US | As an university student and old student of Upward Bound, I can say that this program help me and other students to achieve our college goals. Upward Bound gave hope to students with low incomes. If nobody support us (the students) who is going to do it? |

| 3406 | Elizabeth | Williams | TX | US | Please consider all the positive influences these programs have on the future of our country. Many more children find the means and ambition to attend college and better themselves through these programs. This can only improve this great country which you have been chosen to represent.
Gear up has been more than instrumental in helping my daughter keep up with scholarships, training programs, accurate information and much more. The Gear Up office at Mineral Wells High School is not only informative but has helped relieve the burden of applications, and deadlines on the families they serve. My child is encourged to know there are people and programs sponsered by her government to help better the future for her generation. Thank you for your time and your vote to save these programs.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Williams |
| 3407 | Robert | O'Rourke | SD | US | i went to msip and i got alot out of it. im now in the military but the work and the motivation helped me excell to where i am now today. save trio!!! |
| 3408 | Deborah | Winchel | KS | US | Project Challenge (a TRIO program) was critical in helping me to be the personal and professional success I am. The financial assistance, support of the staff, and comraderie that comes from being a part of a program solely designed nurture and mold the underprivileged student - it continues to be why I fight against allowing our best and brightest to fall into hopelessness. Programs like those under TRIO make a real difference in the lives of real American youth. |
| 3409 | tina | davis | CO | US | i am a student and with out the help from the trio scholars program i would suffer greatly |

| 3411 | Edwin | Quiles | | PR | The MSUB program was one of the first real contacts I had with different cultures and places offshores. It helped me develop relationship skills, sense of independence, and a whole new vision of what I can do for me and for other people. If U.S. wants to have better living quality and well prepared people, do so, by opening doors to the youngsters, not by putting more barriers than the ones we already have. We deserve better, and now more than ever, when U.S. expects So much from us. |

| 3417 | Heather | Tankursley | TX | US | Upward Bound means a lot to the members, It is the difference between whether or not a student goes to college because they need help and can't get or they don't know how to get there. Upward Bound helps them with both. Taking away this program would not be a wise decision. |

| 3432 | ELEANOR | QUARTERMAN | GA | US | I AM CURRENTLY ATTENDING SAVANNAH STATE, AND FEEL THE NEED TO CONTINUE SUCH PROGRAMS AS, ETS, UPWARD BOUND, AND TRIOS, IS VERY PERTINANT. I HAVE A DAUGHTER WHO HAS BEEN IN ETS SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND SHE IS CURRENTLY ACTIVE IN THIS VERY POSITIVE PROGRAM, AS SHE IS AN HONOR ROLL STUDENT, CHOSEN AS A MINORITY LEADER, AND NATIONAL HONOR ROLL STUDENT. TO DISCONTINUE THESE IMPORTANT PROGRAMS WOULD BE A DISMAY FOR ANYONE INVOLVED SUCH AS A STUDENT OR COUNSELOR, AND MAY I ADD PARENTS SUPPORTING THEIR CHILDREN IN THIS PROGRAM. PLEASE RETHINK THIS DECISION REGARDING SAID PROGRAMS. ELEANOR |
| 3433 | Marilyn | Armstrong | TN | US | I have been an Upward Bound Counselor for four schools for almost 13 years and I have seen the impossible done with many students. This program has a dire need to continue and be productive with rural, low-income students. |

| 3440 | Jordan | Bethea | MD | US | I would like to express my outrage at the possibility of my Upward Bound Program being eliminated from President Bush's Federal Budget for 2006's fiscal year. This program may be the only oportunitty I have to enter a university. Some people may actually have thousands of dollars to attend a university of thei choice. However, for the low income to no income families that have hopes and dreams, the TRiO Programs are all that we have. THIS WILL NOT STAND! We cannot allow such a crime, the theft of our much needed funding to b stolen from us from President Bush. We can't allow it! We won't! |
