Constantinos | Ratatsidis | Stop the crap. Our money we pay for our licences should all be put back into the MNR!!! as well as more funding. STOP WAISTING OUR MONEY ON USELESS NON ESENTIAL ITEMS LIKE EXPENCE ACCOUNTS!!!
Tony | Masliwec | Time for politicians to wake up and realize that global change means also protecting the existing environment.
Jana | Fawcett |
Paul | Kindy | It's time for the government to realize that our natural resources are a valuable commodity both economically and intrinsically - and the need to do something before it's too late!

Jordan | Drolet | We need fishing to be good and strong for a long time the MNR will do that.

Chris | Dickson | I've been a fisherman my entire life. I'd like for my children to have the same experiences I did when I was young
Larry | Mckeown |
David | Mooney | All these cuts make it damned hard to explain to my daughter that the money I pay for my fishing license, goes to the future of her natural resources.
Natascha | Beisswenger-Mooney |
John | Marshe | How much money do the senior managers for the MNR get paid per year? $60k? $75k? $85k per year? And yet with all the Anglers and Hunters here in Ontario paying license fees the MNR can't even afford GAS? Com'on guys, something is seriously wrong here. Its time to DO SOMETHING about it!
kendall | ross | This funding is a must.Please increase,soon as possible.
Shawn | B | Politians needs to stop thinking about their pocketbooks and think about the environment. Thumbs up to increased funding for the MNR
Ken | Burns | Please restore forestry services to educate woodlot owners and assist in the good stewardship of our woodlands rather than abdicating to rediculous, tedious, and ineffective local bureaucracy to legislate the preservation of Ontario's forests.
Lori | Burns |
John | Murphy | I can't believe that our Provincial leaders would allow this to happen. After all what does Ontario represent to North America other then fishing and hunting.
Anonymous | Anonymous | I say abolish the MNR and MOE (Land and Resource Cluster). Industry and the public no longer see these ministries as the experts. I read many news articles where MNR or MOE are not at the table. If it’s not being done right, then let’s not do it at all. Then when an environmental issue becomes a Walkerton level issue, then funding will be restored and we can start over. The bureaucrats of the two ministries need to be removed, and then they can be rebuilt from the ground up, as they should be. The MNR and MOE are ground based operations. If there are no field staff to monitor compliance with management plans (forest, water, fisheries, permit to take water, etc.), and enforce acts and regulations, then there is no need for the supporting roles such as ministers, deputy ministers, directors, managers, supervisors, foresters, biologists, research scientists, competency co-coordinators, human resources, IT resources, or any administrative positions. All of these positions and any others not included in this list simply provide support and direction to the people of these ministries who are on the ground making sure resource use and extraction occurs as legally permissible by the people of Ontario.
Jessica | Doyle | Although I had not been much interested in the environment beforehand, I knew I liked camping. I decided to try out the Ontario Rangers program, and was accepted into Esker Lakes. This summer changed my life, and I have been increasingly interested in continuing with working with the MNR, as well as the impact influencing my decision for my schooling (I have decided to take a few environmental courses in university). By cutting down the MNR, many younger students like myself would have no idea what they would be missing, and it would also have a very negative impact on the environment. It's indeed a life changing experience, and the MNR NEEDS all the money it can get to make positive changes in not only individual lives, but in times where the environment is becoming endangered.

Crystal | Hiltz |
Carlo | DiLuca |
| 2486 | Libby | Ipsen | Take a look at the ministry's action in the Forest fire fighting sector...Considering the largest population in history is looking at retirment in the near future and there are more influences for the "dream cottage on a lake" Forest fire monitoring and protection is important in these areas. The recent fire by Half Way Lake Provincial Park was a good example. Property owners were crying and begging fire fighters to save their cottages and homes as they were being evacutated.
That would make a good add. That scence compared to Minister's policy on cut backs. |
Michael | Marlin | the mnr is the most important ministry in the government, if you want to be re-elected realize that now
Brenda | Moore | We NEED to preserve these areas and this takes MONEY!
Robert | Payne |
Tony | power | Start Funding the MNR Now, I will remember this issue come the next election.
Ron | Arnold | Funding is critical for the successful operation of all ministries within the Province of Ontario. The cuts which have occurred over the last 15 years and the funding levels now reflect bad management and government decisions. I ask the government to include the Ministry of Natural Resources as a priority. Surely we can support our 17o field conservation officers with vehilces, equipment and equal pay for their life threatening jobs. We are a laughing stock to the Province Mr. McGuinty...that's very much for all my years of schooling to finally get to my dream job only to be laughed at by the public. Way To Go!
Jackie | Smythe |
Anita | Havas-Stainton | Please act now before it is too late.
Linda | Laney | Something is very wrong here. Since there are no CO's at the local piers people are not purchasing fishing licences! How's that for a negative impact? MNR is going to have even less money. We pay for fishing licences to help our environment. I thought that was the big buzz phrase now "protect the environment". How can that happen with no one policing the promises?
Pierre | Poulin |
Steve | Ream |
Robert | Bryant | We need the whole ministry and we need to increase the CO numbers to get those who abuse the laws. This would give us a better chance to sustain our abundent wildlife for all our licenced sportsmen, women. Also we need for the MNR to increase the number of breeding and hatchery centres for a broad number of species. This would increase the availability for our children's children.

| 2499 | Ashley | Bye | I would like to tell you about my displeasing regards to how animals and the wilflife is being treated. Recently I have witnessed a crucial thing about a man liyinh to a CO and i think it was horrable that the amn was treating the CO that way. I would like to ask if there is anything i can do to help out by getting a petision signed to get the goverment to help get you the money for your vehicals. You shouldn't have had to have a bake sale and try to get money for gas. If there is anything i can do please e-mail me and i will try to help your needs.
Thank-You
