Comments: So many species of plants and animals are unique just to Madagascar. If the forests keep being cut down, the world will lose many species, some of which haven't even been discovered yet. Also, if the deforestation doesn't stop soon, there will be no hope of regrowing rainforest. When trees are cut down in such numbers, the water cycle is broken and it rains very little. Over 90% of moisture is transpired off plants back into the atmosphere. The people of Madagascar need to realize this. There is nowhere for them to go to find fertile soil to plant crops if there is no rain. They can't keep cutting down trees in hope of finding fertile soil. Something needs to be done now.
