Name: Anonymous on Jul 24, 2006Comments: After having read the facts of the SOS appeal and spoken to people involved in the campaign I do not see the reasoning behind not returning Saxon to the handler Mike. If he chooses to home the dog with his family for the rest of its days then surely there is no issue.Flag

Name: Alabamak9 on Jul 24, 2006Comments: There is no reason why a service dog can not be relaeased to the handler. If he was a liability was he one when is service, no or he would have not been qualified in the first place. Most departments when they retire a dog give the officer this option and so should you.Flag

Name: Sue Bailey on Jul 24, 2006Comments: How can the police do this to a loyal and trusting dog I'm astounded! Saxon deserves a long and well earnt retirement. Killing him is just sick :( I've a huge respect for the police but for "senior officers" within the force to make a decision like this has seriously dented my good feeling towards them!Flag

Name: Carol Boche on Jul 24, 2006Comments: I feel that this dog should be allowed to retire to his handler and live out the rest of his life being happy. He provided a service, unconditionally and without objection, to the department just as any human officer would have done and I do not believe it is fair to destroy a loyal and faithful partner when there is a willing and caring home for him to go to.Flag

Do the right thing and let Saxon live out his days where he will be loved and given the life he deserves.Flag
