I have surfed and snorkeled at Encuentro nearly everyday of my vacations. I usually travel with 4 to 5 friends and they have inturn traveled back to DR on their own. Playa Encuentro is always central to our enjoyment. Losing access to Encuentro would definitely be a huge factor in future vacation planning. We simply would stop going to DR if access to Encuentro's beach was lost...It is a magical place and it is that important to all who have experienced it! |

The landowner certainly has the right to develop the land above the beach, but not to deny access to the beaches that should part of the DR public trust. Every effort should also be made to ensure the environmental integrity be preserved (waste water treatment, parking area run-off, etc.). I have visited and enjoyed Encuentro for the past 5 years and have taken many guests for their first DR experience - plan to continue sharing my DR experiences so long as the public interest is not compromised and the natural beauty reserved for only the select few. |
