What will Woolworths do to make it betterFlag

Name: Viet Nguyen on Apr 6, 2004Comments: I think having Pharmacies in Woolworths and other supermarkets is rediculous! Do you actually want people's health to be compromised That is what will happen if people are able to buy prescription medications in supermarkets without the proper counselling, advice n knowledge from Pharmacists!Flag

Name: Julia on Apr 6, 2004Comments: I am a pharmacist in a remote pilbara town and although I am far away from the action physically, it is very much a major concern for me. If WWorths go for all the front of shop business, there is no way I can survive on scripts alone with the town population. Hence the loss of the only pharmacist who has won several local business awards will leave. I don't want this, and the community don't want this. We can't get enough doctors here, and the community regularly use me as a filter as to whether they need to go to the doctor and wait for extended periods for a very busy doctor. I don't want to work for woolworths, they do not resemble what I aspire to.Flag

Name: Sheree Stewart on Apr 6, 2004Comments: The deregulation of the community pharmacy system will only lead to further deterioration of the already fragile health care system. The many people that currently choose their local pharmacy for advice on medications and minor ailments will not choose a supermarket to provide the same service. They will either self-treat (potentially disasterous) or they will go to their local GP or Hospital. There is no way that corporate ownership of pharmacy can help the general health of the community. It will only cause more problems.Flag

Name: Lyly Nguyen on Apr 6, 2004Comments: I think it's ridiculous having supermarkets sell drugs. It means a loss of jobs for thousands of pharmacists. Consumers will not receive the adequate information and counselling that is NEEDED. I think Woolworths is making a huge mistake. Say no to drugs in supermarkets!!!!Flag
