Name: Sonia Jackett on Jan 31, 2011Comments: This building can be saved. It is high time big businesses, people, councils and the rest started to appreciate that we need to retain places like this, places of culture and hubs of community in order to retain meaning in our increasingly alientated society. What is more this building represents part of Edinburgh's history and heritage (as well as cinematic). It would be far more prudent and appreciative to save and refurbish this building than in ten years time to have the demand for a community centre, or such, be met with another hollow glass structure - costing the same amount of money or more.Flag

Name: Jo Cameron Brown on Jan 31, 2011Comments: As an Edinburgh resident, born and bred here, I am shocked at how many of these significant structures are being allowed to decline and deteriorate, when Edinburgh so badly needs arts venues. What it doesn't need are more shops! Let's retain it for the cultural life of this wonderful cityFlag

Find a new use for this great building - that's what Edinburgh does best - retains all it's histories! PaulFlag

Name: Craig Henderson on Jan 31, 2011Comments: The old Odeon is an absolutely beautiful building, inside and out. It should be a listed and protected piece of art deco history and not ripped down to be replaced by some hideous modern monstrosity. I for one would love to see it returned to it's previous role as a cinema.Flag
