Comments: A listed building should not go to waste. It was designed as a theatre, it should continue to entertain people and provide an influx for struggle local businesses.

Comments: I was in this building the last time it was open during the fringe and it is well worth saving. It is a disgrace that an investor has deliberately let it rot with every intention of dertroying the fabric to beyond reasonable repair for their own profit. An unworthy owner should be forced to sell a historic building ASAP.

Comments: I live nearby and i walk past this building everyday. I remember when this building was a cinema and it was magnificent. Now every day i walk past this it saddens me that such a beautiful building has been allowedd to get so damaged. It deserves to be restored to its original condition

Comments: Remember many happy evenings spent here in my youth. At the very least, it could be redeveloped / reopened as a modern cinema venue (with ancillary revenues from a restaurant / bar). Just needs a bit of bravery and imagination and a willing investor!

Comments: it is important to preserve old buildings for their intrinsic value and to support the tourist industry. There are relatively few buildings available which can take large audiences.

Comments: This is the only theatre outside of london left by the designer, it is a beautiful testament to a bygone era, and edinbiurgh should be establishing it self as teh destination for boutique venues for artist, there is so much potential for this venue, DON'T DESTROY IT!

Comments: I have been going to this cinema since 1964, it's such a beautiful building and has as much history as the Dominion. So many of our historic buildings keep being lost this way, eroding our city of stunning architecture which is what makes Edinburgh the beautiful city that it is. Please don't let this happen again, please restore it to it's former glory, it truly is worth it.

Comments: A building of such importance holds a key role in the local community and can be revived in order to suit the changing community with a more modern ideal. Why tear down a building of such architectural importance?
