Name: Grahame Wear on Jan 30, 2011Comments: It is truly despicable the way this whole scenario has been processed and allowed to drag on for so long. At some point the complete farce should be investigated as it makes a mockery of democracy and ridicules the legal processes that theoretically have been put in place to prevent such things happening. Let's hope that at last we can all unite and save this last piece of fantastic Scottish architectural history, besides, hopefully, giving Edinburgh and Scotland a true 'red carpet' venue. (Dependant on which project is adopted)Flag

Name: Rosemary Doyle on Jan 30, 2011Comments: Edinburgh is supposed to be a World Heritage city. As well as the grandeur of the New Town and the historic buildings of the Old Town, it is the prevalence of historic buildings scattered through the wider city centre that make this city a unique and wonderful place. It is buidlings such as the Odeon - relatively new in Edinburgh terms - which will create the historic sites of the future, and keep Edinburgh's status as a jewel of architecture alive. Not to mention the cultural vibrancy of a community based cultural centre - not something that Edinburgh is good at, outside the festival. We have many, many hotels in Edinburgh. There is only one art deco cinema. Please, please preserve it. Once it's gone, it's gone for good.Flag

Name: Sadia on Jan 30, 2011Comments: This building is a part of Edinburgh's cultural history, and is too unique in its architecture to be rebuilt as a standard hotel. Its former beauty should be restored, so it can continue to flourish as much as it did before.Flag

Bring footfall and upgrading to the area with the Odeon building a marvelous crown.Flag
