Cardiff Council has a duty to preserve this green space for the enjoyment of all, not fence it off for the hobby of a few.
This land is supposed to be protected by a trust for the public to enjoy. I doubt anyone previously envisioned that in future years it would be sold off to a private members club in order for a small group middle aged men to play with their trains. Currently it is used regularly by dog walkers and other members of the public - there doesn't seem to be any benefit to the local residents in selling it off; the toy railway can still be enjoyed on the few days it is open to the public without any pressing need to extend it.
This is a private club which is a commercial organisation which wishes to restrict access to open woodland. A development here will have a detrimental effect on the local wildlife and prevent members of the public from enjoying their rightful access to that land.
I am appalled that future generations could be deprived of the opportunities which I and my siblings and friends had to play freely in Heath Park merely because of the greed of this private club which is run as a commercial organisation.
Heath Park is much valued and well used by the community, I do not see how giving parts of it away to a private club and restricting access to it can benefit the community.
Hello Local resident who's family enjoy the park and like it the way it is.
The Heath Park was not left to the people of Cardiff in order that the C.M.E.S could have part of the parkland to play with their trains. It would be interesting to know why they were allowed the land in the first place. Secondly, did they pay for the building of their clubhouse themselves and how much in rates do they pay a year. House rates around the Heath are quite hefty and I would be very happy if anyone can answer my queries.

I am 96 and have enjoyed Heath Park since 1955 myself and with my children and grandchildren. It will be tragic if their children and grandchildren lose the chance to enjoy the park as I have.
