Dear Mayor Parker and Commissioners Garcia and Lee:As a resident of the East Side, a property owner and a promoter of Houston in both my personal and professional life, I am asking that you take a very close look at the impact of bringing either an inmate processing facility or Crime Lab to the proposed Dynamo site.Houston has worked long and hard to redefine its image and to revitalize Downtown - this proposed addition makes the newly desirable Downtown real estate much less attractive and I believe it would seriously impact the development and excitement that has been sparked by the relatively recent additions of Discovery Green and the Pavilions, etc. The upscale and inviting feel of the new prosperous and green Downtown would be lost under this proposed banner of expansion for jails and impact excitement about the light rail in the East Side and further growth.I won't cite statistics on the impact of jails on neighborhoods, as I am sure we are all aware of how...
