Blue & Gold for the Next Generation: Save CDCI West

179 Signatures Goal: 2,500

CDCI West is a landmark institution in Downtown Cobourg. Vikings have been roaming King Street since 1902, parades of blue and gold. The Dare Lucem legacy; however, is being challenged. The School Board claims that it can no longer support student capacity. Can you image a student learning experience without an epic Comets vs. Vikings battle? Do you want your children to be a name or a number? Focused, tailored education should be valued not eliminated. A small, intimiate student body should be celebrated, not diminished. A community environment where students can thrive as an individual while participating in a collective should be promoted, not abolished. A student while learning should have the right to an identity -- a right to be a Viking. The ARC Committee has a mandate to listen to public imput prior to making its full recommendation to the Board. Let our Viking spirit roar in unison! By signing this online petition you are saying, "Blue and Gold for the Next Generation--Save CDCI West!!!" An ancient Havamal saying of the Vikings about seeking knowledge reads, "The cautious guest who comes to the table speaks sparingly. Listens with ears; learns with eyes. Such is the seeker of knowledge." For it is the cautious student who comes to the West that listens with his/her ears; learns with his/her eyes and enters the world transformed, forever changed, filled with knowledge ... his/her blue and gold stripes adorned. May the Dare Lucem lantern light burn for another hundred years or more. Please sign this petition. Let us Save the West together. Thank you for your support.
