My asthma symptoms do not respond well to the new HFA inhalers, and my quality of life has diminished. The CFC ban is absurd, considering the amounts in question, versus other industrial pollutants. Please help.CA

Ridiculous to remove an ingredient from medicine on which millions of people depend on for mere SURVIVAL!!!!!!! If there's no one left on earth because they all die due to untreated disease, what good is the ozone anyway!TN
The new HFA stuff is totally worthless.CAAnonymous
The HFA inhalers do not work. Since I have been forced to use the new inhalers I've have been hospitalized 5 times and have gone to the ER on an average of once a week. I am on disability. This is costing the government and the American tax payer a lot more money than is necessary. The new inhalers also cost more than the older inhalers. The old inhalers were shown to have no effect on the ozone so exactly how are these new inhalers beneficial for anyone?NE

I used Glaxo's Ventolin inhaler for well over 30 years and switched to generic maybe 5 years ago. The ONLY one I found that worked was by Warrick. How nice to be able to pay so little for something as necessary as Water. Now I struggle to breath as I fork over food money to pay $30+ for ProAir which barely works and have been forced (by my government), to pay an additional $130-140 more per month for an additional inhaler (Flovent) which helps ease only a little of the discomfort. I am broke and unable to function. Why did you take away my $15.00 inhaler and force me to pay $180 per month? Do your homework, ask the pharmacists in this country about what their customers are saying. Why don't you tackle the real monster and go after manufacturers of air conditioning units, refrigeration, and fossil fuel guzzlers - or does that hit too close to home for you? Why did you have to attack those of us who are ill while helping to line the pockets of our pharmaceutical companies?PAAnonymous

I just got my first ProAir inhaler and it not only does not help an asthma attack, it seems to be making my ashtma WORSE! I'm actually very scared and can't believe that this could be allowed to happen- also, I am an environmentalist, but would rather have the cfc inhaler, because a dead environmentalist doesn't do much good.NC

I have found that the new inhalers do not last as long nor do they clear my symptoms as quick as the albuterol does. I really think they ought to check the cars for polution and other materials in the world that are causing the asthma to get worse. Maybe then the asthma would clear up and they wouldn't have to worry about a small inhaler ruining the ozones. Let's start with the polution first.PAAnonymous
terrible..worst idea i have heard in my life. anyone with asthma for a period of time or with half a brain can tell the new inhalers are absolute garbage. proair actually makes me unable to take a deep breath. but then again, i wont get burned from the sun thanks to our O-zone. nice.NH

the PROAIR inhalers are a disgrace and do not help!! Why would you want people to suffer?MA
Proair HFA, Proventil HFA and Flovent made my asthma worse-nausea and very red rash on hands occurred each time I tried to use these inhalers. My child used Proventil HFA after an asthma attack in PE-it failed-I rushed to school-luckily I had a CFC inhaler! The new HFA inhalers need to be taken off the market!VA

The new HFA inhalers do not open my airway at all and do not adequately propel the albuterol medication deeply enough into my bronchii and lungs. I've had to go from pharmacy to pharmacy to find supplies of the CFC ones, and cannot get more than two 17mg ones per month, so can't stock up if I found them! My health is seriously at stake. Regarding the Kyoto treaty information above: I don't necessarily agree with that text, but wonder why a country who won't sign that treaty and act upon significant emissions changes instead chooses to put my health at serious risk for such a minimal factor in the current climate crisis of global warming. 229 My husband and grandaughter suffer with asthma, they both rely on the CFC inhalers, recently they have started to use the ProAir inhaler and they both agree it does not work correctly, they have used all the tips the pharmacy has given them but, still no improvement. They NEED to bring back the CFC inhalers!! Taking it away was an awful thing to do.MA
YOU SHOULD GRT THE OLD INHALERS BACK !!!!!! THE NEW ONES SUCKMA

The expense of the new inhalers is a major concern, especially since most asthmatics must purchase them on a regular basis.NDAnonymous
At the very least a inhaler that works and isn't 4 times the cost would be nice . We're being railroaded by the FDA! The HFA's do not do their job. My escalated wheezing , coughing and shortness of breath is proof. Absolutely no user of the HFA inhaler that I have talked to are happy with the results. I am using the HFA inhaler twice as much trying to get a decent breathMO
offering cfc free inhalers is enough for those that are "green" don't make the choice for allIA

Please don't ban the CFC inhalers - they are life savers for those of us with asthmaVA
I'm writing in regards to the new pro-air inhalers they don't work. I have been trying to use them for 2 months and look what happen I ended up in the hospital for 6 days because pro-air don't work. Why are you taking albuterol inhalers away when they help keep a lot of people breathing and out of the hospital? Hope you don't have asthma.MNAnonymous
