| 2251 | Tracy Smith | I am allergic to the HFA products. My lungs actuall swell to the point where there is so much edema that I need a course of prednisone or hospitalizaiton with same to get better. I am paying for any CFC inhaler I can find or using a handheld nebulizer and I have not used the HFA for quite a while and I am doing just fine. When the CFCs are not made any longer, I guess my only opion is to carry around a nebulizer and we all know how convienent it is to use a 10-minute inhalation product. Please do not pull the CFCs for medication purposes. I can see for all other uses, but not for life-saving purposes. It is called a "rescue inhaler" for a reason. The HFA will kill thousands before anyone gets this stopped. | MT |
| 2252 | Sandy Schmidt | I took a proventil inhaler this last June, and then got a yeast infection in my lungs from inhaling the ethanol in it. What kind of a asthma "relieving" product is that?! It also caused increased asthma for two days. Luckily I still had some of my old Warrick brand inhalers left. Our rights to breathe are being taken away. Shame on you FDA. Clean up the coal fired peaker plants to help clean the air. The small amount of CFC's in our rescue inhalers are inhaled anyway - they end up in the asthmatic's body, not in the environment. It is like you are taking away the oxygen for all asthmatics - it is murder! | CA |
| 2253 | Anonymous | Please bring back the CFC albuterol inhaler. I can not use the ethanol powered ProAir HFA or the Xopenex HFA as it makes me worse. We need relief not more problems! | NE |

| 2256 | M Fisher | hfa costs so much can't afford it - do I buy food or an inhaler that doesn't work - I is rediculous to turn a generic med into a tier two expesive med just because the propellant has been changed. Next thing you know the price will triple because they changed the color of the package. This is so wrong. | IL |
| 2257 | Donnie Castleman | It's unfortunately going to take deaths to make the FDA realize that they made a mistake banning CFC inhalers, and that the whole Global Warming thing is a fraud. | NV |
| 2258 | Diane Baer | my son has a hard time with the proair
it works nothing like the albuteroil,
warwick with CFC | AZ |

| 2260 | Andrew Raisley | Still no luck on an inhailer that works for me. They say they are all the same, and that a full load of B.S. that the doctors are telling us. I still wheeze everyday, and continue to take all of my other meds. I have 1 old CFC inhailer I resort to when times are bad. | OH |

| 2265 | Jean Timmerman | I was not aware that a change had been made to my inhaler medication and so I thought that by COPD was just getting worse! I just ran across the information that my medication had been changed without any notice to me yesterday. I also hate the new inhalers and I don't understand how they can get off saying it is better! | CA |
| 2266 | Kurt Budelmann, M.D. | If CFC's have not been proven to have had a major effect on ozone production, why are we depriving patients of this therapy? | SC |

| 2270 | Anonymous | I have been forced to use the nebulizer for treatment as the pro air inhaler provides me with virtually no relief. This is not right! | FL |
| 2271 | William R. Vincent, Ph.D. | As scientist in Pharmaceutical R&D, and a user of Albuterol inhalers, I implore the FDA to rescind this decision. The new HFA inhalers do not function in a manner consistent with the older CFC inhalers, a fact undeniable by all, except by the PMA. People will die from the new HFA formulations. This is an inane quest and was from the outset, with the sole benefit being good public relations for the PMA.

| 2277 | Kristin Sabo | I just discovered I am *highly* allergic to HFA propellant.
I was nearly hosptalized yesterday with analphylaxis, reaction was to both Proventil HFA and Primatine Mist (w/ HFA). An old CFC Albuterol inhaler allowed me to breathe again so I could swallow a pile of Benadryl -- it was a close call. I am definitely NOT amused, and neither is my MD.
The FDA has left me no alternatives. Ventolin Rotacaps worked GREAT and use zero propellants -- why in the hell aren't these available? Can you say "political favoritism"? I knew you could...
CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT TIME! Sign me up, and if I haven't died from asthma by the time it gets to court, I'll be there with bells on. In the meantime, I've found my old Rotahalers and am desperately looking for a source of Rotacaps. | CA |

| 2280 | stewart | thanks i want them to keep making it cause i need it i have asthma | MI |
| 2281 | Jeanne Winfield | I tried the hfa inhalers for 2 months because Walgreens says they can't get the cfc kind anymore. They give very little relief if any (and yes I followed the instructions) THEY ARE NOT EFFECTIVE...AT ALL!
The old style lasts me a month the hfa ones last 2 weeks at best and my copay is $35.00 compared to the previous $10. I finally called around and found a pharmacy that still has old faithful so I transfered my prescription to get them for as long as I can.
I would rather be prescribed and carry a nebulizer around with me then have to rely on the hfa inhaler.... I'm really scared about this I hope the powers that be will hear our voices and reconsider the ban. | FL |
| 2282 | kenneth deitrich | We have been to the emergency room 3 times since they changed inhalers on us.
The new inhalers do not work.
Lets keep making cigarettes though... | NV |

| 2284 | richard wilson | we need to stage a protest...im dead serious....... | NY |
| 2285 | Brigette Mastel | Three of my four children have asthma. The new inhalers pose significant risks and complications. Their asthma was manageable and their quality of life was good with the old inhalers. Why in the world would the FDA want to move so many already compromised individuals into an even higher risk cohort? Whose interests are being served here? Patients' well-being must come first. Shame on the FDA. | MN |
| 2286 | mary Scott | | MI |
| 2287 | Michele Russ | the HFA inhalers are more expensive and doesn't work as good. Tareget something else and let us have our inhalers. Do you know how it feels to not breathe? | NY |
| 2288 | Sam Rhue | The simple fact that the FDA has been given the authority to ban, and therefore withhold a life saving device from a person in need, is a horrible and sad testament to abuse of the power we have granted to our elected officials. They aught to be ashamed of themselves and we aught to be ashames of ourselves for allowing them to do this when their misplaced decision is based on the "environment" and not entirely medically motivated. | OH |

| 2293 | Amanda Hyatt | I have had asthma from a very young age. I am only 27 and have no insurance so this hurts alot to have to pay 40.00 to 50.00 everytime.
Thanks alot to the people out there. This didn't help the o-zone it only hurt the ones who need albuterol. | AL |
| 2294 | Michael McKee | If one American dies from an asthma attack that would have been saved by a CFC inhaler then the FDA will solely hold the blame for allowing this. Medical exemptions should be allowed for CFC and every person with common sense knows this! | NC |
| 2295 | Karen Russell | The new inhaler does not work for my 17 year old daughter. We want the old ones back. She can't inhale it when she's having an asthma attack. | OH |
| 2296 | Nancy Neidt | I am an RN and have asthma. I tried the ProAir HFA and found that even with multiple dosing, which is not the way to use an inhaler, I was unable to breathe adequately. During the brief time I used the ProAir HFA, it was necessary to use Albuterol nebulizer treatments to actually clear my lungs. My local pharmacy has agreed to provide me with Albuterol CFC inhalers whenever possible, but I am truly frightened about what will happen if they are no longer available. I suppose all asthmatics could carry nebulizers with them to work, to concerts, shopping, etc, and use them on an emergency basis to continue breathing. My point is, get real, FDA. The HFA inhalers are NOT as effective, and banning CFC inhalers is dangerous for a significant segment of the population. | MN |
| 2297 | Anonymous | The HFA inhalers are ineffective and can't take the place of the rescue inhalers we were used to. Side effects and a lot of coughing means I have to rely on a nebulizer now. People's lives are at stake. | NJ |
| 2298 | Bobbi | I am writing this knowing that in a few hours I will be going to the emergency room. I can't breath. I would like to take the people that did this to us and put them in a room with limited air and let them realize what we live with everyday. Is there a class action suit against these evil people. I think my children would rather there mother being alive then the environment trying to be saved which is a crock!! | MA |
| 2299 | Peter Condon | CFC Inhalers are the only thing that controls my asthma.
This is a death sentence. | NJ |
| 2300 | Kerrie Bond | Tonight I had a VERY scary experience where I started wheezing pretty badly, and my new HFC was completely ineffective. Luckily, I had my old inhaler back at home, but had to wait an hour to get to it. It was scary, risky, and I can't believe this even happened - inhalers are supposed to save us in situations like this, not make us worry. | NY |
