Wekiva Cove Homeowners Association and the Architectural Review Board recently issued violations to many neighbors owning portable and/or permanent basketball hoop structures.  With the recommendation of the Homeowners Board, we are proposing the following ARB Changes and requesting your support of this petition:

Current ARB verbiage:

Exhibit A. Section 5.  "All basketball backboards and any other fixed games and play structures shall be located at the side or rear of the dwelling, or on the inside portion of the corner lots within the set back lines. All portable basketball backboards and other detached games or structures shall likewise be moved to and stored at the side or rear of the dwelling when not in use. Tree houses or platforms of a like kind or nature shall not be constructed on any part of the lot."

Proposed ARB verbiage:

Exhibit A. Section 5. "All fixed games and play structures shall be located at the side or rear of the dwelling, or on the inside portion of the corner lots within the set back lines.

Portable and permanent (not fixed to the home structure) basketball backboards, with nets, are permitted on private driveways or immediately adjacent to and facing the driveway.  They must be well maintained.  If not, they must be repaired or removed.  They must be safely stored or secured during severe storms and hurricanes."

By signing this petition, you will be supporting the change in the ARB,  and the homeowners who wish to maintain the basketball hoops in our neighborhood.  Additionally, this will allow us to promote physical activity for our children, as well as, keeping our neighborhood a kid-friendly place for prospective home buyers and will ultimately maintain the value of our homes.

Thanks for your support!
