Wawatay Native Communications Society is an integral communication network (print, web, radio, and TV) for northern Ontario residents, organizations, businesses, industry and government. For over 40 years, Wawatay has preserved the indigenous language and culture through their various media and is theprimary source, if not the only source, of news for northern Ontario First Nations, thus making it the primary media outlet for businesses and organizations to deliver their messages and reach out to these communities. With many remote First Nations already struggling to maintain a connection with mainstream society, to lose such a valuable communication network would be devastating, not only to the communities, but to the business and organizations that serve them.
