Name: Joseph Colclough on Nov 18, 2012Comments: WRH saved my dad's life in'97 when he suffered a heart attack. And thanks to the kidney dialysis unit there meant that we didn't have to travel miles to see him everyday when his kidneys started shutting down and before he sadly passed away. He suffered multiple heart attacks on the machine on 27th Sept 2004. The nurses and doctor's did all they could to keep him alive it was thanks to these investments in the WEB that we could say our goodbyes to him and that he died in the city he loved and we were there with him when he closed his eyes. If it wasn't for the WRH it's doctor's, nurses consultants and staff and these services were not in place at the WRH, he would have probably died in 97 in a ambulance heading to Cork. And if it wasn't for the fact that it has a kidney dialysis unit my family and I would have never had gotten a chance to say goodbye. Minister I have never begged for anything in my life but please please please retain not just the two services I have outlined but all services at WRH. It makes a world of difference to a patient's comfort in travelling a families comfort knowing that should something major happen to know that people in the South East are close to a hospital that will meet most of their demands in life.Flag
