Comments: Our beautiful city is being thrown to the wolves. Every day now we are receiving more bad news. Closures of precious amenities, services and businesses. Even our magnificent history is being simply disregarded by our government. What hope do my children have for a future here? In only a matter of years I fear I will lose my children as there will be nothing here to offer them. We need help. We need to see some light at the end of this very cold, dark tunnel.

Comments: outraged, upset and very frightened for my family's future. Like many more, we do not have the choice to emigrate and fear we will spend our days paying for the governments decisions, in my opinion mistakes. There is just no quality of life here anymore

Comments: Of all the cities to take services away from, Waterford cannot afford it. Some communities here have over 40% unemployment and every week more businesses and services are lost to the recession. just today, we learn that Aer Arann are pulling out of the airport in January. The downscaling of the hospital seems criminally ill-advised. It seems especially wasteful considering the development that has gone into the site, visit Waterford today and you will see the hypocritical sight of a tower crane looming over a busy hospital which is now to be downgraded. The government should be finding ways to run our public service more smoothly, not just making sweeping cutbacks so that they can keep their ludicrous salaries and be seen to be keeping their heads down like model schoolboys where the troika is concerned. The Fine Gael/Labour coalition were given a strong mandate by the people to end reckless public sector spending, and promised the public that they would see radical changes in the way the health service was managed. Anyone can admit defeat and lay down their burden, but the government, as our elected representatives are not afforded that luxury.

Comments: To say I am outraged at the present time is putting it mildly. we are not going down without a fight, there has to be something done for our City and County and the whole south east region. We have to get more employment and look after our local businesses and services, We have to otherwise there will be nothing left of the South East and waterford will all be left as a ghostown.
