From the 1st of JULY 2012 - Ward 8D is CLOSING... If you or someone you know has been touched by breast cancer in Calderdale, please take 5 minutes to sign this petition and/or write a letter to JULIE KERSHAW at Calderdale Royal Hospital. BECAUSE The bigwigs in their infinate wisdom have decided that its not cost effective to keep Ward 8D open, even though they have money to refurbish the lifts!! The SPECIALIST NURSES and Staff of Ward 8D are being told to choose roles on other wards and who knows where their skills will end up when the ward CLOSES at the end of THIS MONTH. The Ward supports patients and their families at a distressing point in their illness and provides guidance and support for the weeks, months and years ahead. WITHOUT having to travel to Huddersfield or Leeds. Please show your support, people power is the only way we can get them to reconsider their decisions and make sure that we have a Calderdale Service provided by Calderdale Nurses to support Calderdale people in their fight against Breast Cancer.
