Name: Stanley Nikon on Jun 14, 2009Comments: I am an IST distance student working full-time as a Harris employee. This degree directly aided the ability to serve the needs of my company and taking courses online was my only option to accomplish it. You are robbing others of a great opportunity.Flag

Name: Michael Abernathy on Jun 15, 2009Comments: I am a veteran of the United States Navy. I spent 8 years serving this country. I got out when I was 28 years old. The option to be a full time student and not work was not an option, so I turned to distance learning programs. With so many online degree mills out there, it is hard to find a creditable University to obtain a degree from. When I discovered the Distance program offered by the University of Central Florida, I knew I had found the school for me. Sincerely Michael AbernathyFlag

Name: Troy S Barnette on Jun 17, 2009Comments: I am currently enrolled in the Information Systems Technology Program. This program works great for non-traditional students like me, since the bulk of the upper level classes are online and therefore available to students that have full time jobs and families and would otherwise be unable to attend. I attended BCC and received both my AA and AS with the intention of moving to UCF to complete my Bachelors Degree. The elimination of this degree and department will greatly hinder me if not make it impossible for students like me to continue our education and therefore become better providers for our families.Flag

This is one of the fastest expanding fields in the world, why would you want to eliminate that Students have been very successful in obtaining jobs after graduating under the Information Systems Technology Major, which i currently am obtaining.Flag

Name: Joshua VanWynsberghe on Jun 17, 2009Comments: The news of the potential closure of the Engineering Technology program came as a shock to me. My wife is an alumni of UCF and I have a great deal of school pride since I have given up so much to attend UCF. I gave up a high paying job working at an R+D division for John Deere so that I could move down to Florida so that I could continue my education. I currently work full time for a research and development company on the east coast, so attending traditional engineering courses in Orlando would be virtually impossible. Like many of the Engineering Technology students, I have been taking classes on the side for many years hoping one day to complete my degree so that I can move up within my company and provide a better life for my family. By eliminating the Engineering Technology program, you are not only depriving Central Florida of a highly technical workforce, you are depriving many students of the dream of a higher education....Flag

Stamps on Jun 19, 2009Comments: As the premire university in the high tech corridor it is utterly galling, that in a time when the federal government is pumping more money into STEM educational opportunities, UCF is thinking of shuttering the doors on a program that would only continue to succeed.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jun 19, 2009Comments: Please save this program, I am a Senior this year and yet have 2 years to go. If you get rid of this program not only will I be unable to afford the completion of a different degree but, I will loose ALL of my scholarships. As a college student scholarships are my bread and water without which I could not survive. Please save the ENT programFlag
