The State of Tennessee has closed T.O. Fuller Golf Course as September 18, 2011 due to revenue loss. Whereas most golf courses in the Memphis area are relatively flat, T. O. Fuller has gently rolling hills and mature trees that dominate this 18-hole golf course. Accented by color-infused scenery and native Tennessee vegetation, this 5,986-yard, par 72 course features wide fairways and Bermuda greens. The course's signature hole (#4) is a 196-yard, par 3, requiring an accurate tee shot to reach a small elevated green. T. O. Fuller State Park, a 1,138-acre park built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937, remains open. It was only the second state park in the nation open to African-Americans in the era of segregation. The golf course opened in the 1950s. T.O. Fuller Golf Course was not closed based on revenue loss, cause in 2010, the golf course would had made a profit if the financials were correct. Therefore, WE, the undersigned, request that the State of Tennessee: * Re-Open T.O. Fuller Golf Course for two years; 1) Get at least 400 golfers to pay for a full membership plan each year * Create a convenant that guarantees no major development on the course per State of TN * Pay State of TN a yearly fee of $5,000 for each of the two years
