Name: Dan Hunt on Nov 8, 2012Comments: We call on Hounslow Council to fulfil its obligations to protect the nature and character of this much loved traditional shopping street by making responsible and competent planning decisions. The councils planning department has hitherto been negligent in its duty to protect the character of Turnham Green Terrace and its unique mix of shops.Flag

Name: Maggie Dobson on Nov 20, 2012Comments: Turnham Green Terrace is full of independent shops offering a huge variety of goods & services. I would hate to see this turn into pound land street because of doubled business rates. I strongly urge you to support small, local shops to protect the nature of our high street.Flag

Name: Brian Paver on Nov 20, 2012Comments: I totally agree with the above statement. This little street, which really deserves to be pedestrianised, will cease to be a valuable shopping hub and valuable asset in the borough if this erosion is allowed to continue.Flag

Name: Carolyn Farquhar on Nov 20, 2012Comments: I have lived in Chiswick since 1977 and always loved Turnham Green Terrace with its variety of shops. My 3 children have particularly fond memories of SnapDragon, but it is the sort of shops like Mackens and other small businesses which provide us locals with wonderful shopping and friendly staff who know you. Please NO more estate agents. Turnham Green gives the 'village' feel to Chiswick.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 20, 2012Comments: Turnham Green Terrace is a row of fantastic shops that give Chiswick the charicter it is known for. Keep rents reasonable to keep the current traders. Large chains who might pay more, would devalue the nature of the street and destabilise the economic activity of the areaFlag

Name: Paul De Rooij on Nov 21, 2012Comments: The number of real estate agents is a manifestation of the real estate bubble – a bubble that hasn’t burst yet. When the real bust comes, then one can predict that the majority of these offices will shut down, and then Turnham Green and the High Street will have many boarded real estate agencies. Chiswick has an interest in a mix of shops to retain the quality of living, but it also is a defensive stance in the current uncertain times.Flag

Name: Jeni Evans on Nov 29, 2012Comments: Nearly every shopping street in every town in this country is the same. One town looks like every other town and everybody buys the same goods and the same clothes, how boring is that! Our choices all decided by big corporate businessmen. Lets keep our private shops with their interesting choice of goods. Councils please help and support our local shopkeepers. keep Chiswick an interesting place to shop. As for estate agents two at the very most should suffice for our needs.Flag

Name: Tessa Wood on Dec 7, 2012Comments: I have been a great fan of Turnham Green Terrace for many years. The mix of small independent shops is one of the main attractions. I feel large chains and a saturation of estate agents diminishes the character of the street, and reduces the reason for going there. Please think again before allowing more of these licences to be granted.Flag
