Name: Erin Mahoney on Dec 6, 2012Comments: We need this bookstore far more than a container store! Children need to have a place to experience books and to handle them and to just develope a love of these treasures. This news is just so heartbreaking! I feel lost without a bookstore nearby and the Tysons store is too commercial. Our Reston store is comfortable and has a small town feel to it. I will never purchase from the container store, I don't like the one in Tysons and I am really disappointed in this really very bad decision. I feel like Reston is selling out.Flag

Name: Andy Regitsky on Dec 6, 2012Comments: It is a disgrace that a highly educated community of 60,000 will not have even a single book store! Has B&N looked into Tall Oaks? It could be the anchor store there at significantly lower rent.Flag

Name: Mariane Mears on Dec 6, 2012Comments: Every community needs a bookstore (I love used books, too, but for new titles, B&N is necessary). We need a gathering place for friends and family. We don't need a store that most people visit only a couple of times a year. We purchase a lot of books from B&N, in addition to browsing. I can't see ever going to the Container Store--you can get cheaper stuff down the street at Target. I can't stand what Reston is becoming.Flag

What a shame that we are slowly moving away from such places (and trust me I am a electronic gadget user just as the next person but I still love books and being with people!)Flag

Name: Leigh Schoener on Dec 6, 2012Comments: We need to keep B&N! Children need to be exposed to bookstores. Yes, we can buy online but nothing compares to walking into a book store and getting that sense of adventure and calmness surrounding us. Many memories are made at the children's story time as well. Container Store? Who shops there any more when we have Target? Please stay or pick a new location for B&N. One suggestion is Brambleton Town Center in Ashburn. This is a perfect location to serve all of western Fairfax and Loudoun County.Flag

Name: Jeanne Talbot on Dec 6, 2012Comments: This B&N is more than a bookstore for our community. When my kids were young, we loved stopping at the bookstore for a small book treat or a moment of "story time" and as they progressed through school, this B&N was always willing to host a fundraiser to support the students or to invite the local band groups to share music with shoppers during the holidays. The same wonderful people have been working at this store for fifteen years. Please find a way to keep this B&N. It's a place of comfort and community for so many of us in this area.Flag
